Sorry if this is a really stupid question....
grobags appear to be much longer than babies.
you are supposed to place baby with his feet at the bottom of cot, basket etc.
you are not supposed to fold the empty bit of the bag over.
what am I missing? Or is one off the above incorrect?

We used to hang it off the end of the Moses basket. But actually feet to foot doesn't matter if you are using a Grobag. Feet to foot, when using blankets, stops baby wriggling under the blankets and suffocating. This can't happen with a Grobag as they are poppered in at the neck.

With P being very short we always had this trouble! I just hooked the end of the bad over the end of the mosses basket. I think a lot if the foot to foot thing is I make sure they can't slip down under blankets. Which isn't an issue I you're using bags. So I didn't worry as much once in the cot, she just went in the middle.

It doesn't really matter where you put them in the cot if using a grobag as the point of putting their feet at the bottom on the cot is so that they can't wriggle under the blankets, which they can't do with a grobag.
I used to tuck the end of the gro bag into the mattress when he was small and I was super paranoid but now he's just put down wherever and soon moves around. There's no chance of it coming over his head if it's a proper fit.
Yep - feet to foot is for sheets and blankets etc. With a grobag isn't doesn't matter where you put them :)

Ah I see, thankyou.
Does that mean you have to be careful about neck size of the grobag?

Yes. The most important thing about bags is that they can't fit their head through the neck. We couldn't use them until P was bout three months as she was tiny.

The actual brand grobags have poppers under the arms to stop them slipping down. Kiddicares own brand do as well

Thanks for your help. You wouldn't believe how much time I have spent pondering this!
