Do your boobs produce milk independently of each other?
For example, if you only ever fed from one side , would the other side stop producing milk while the side you used continued to produce milk, or does stimulating one cause it to be produced in both ?
no reason for asking, just something that popped into my head while feeding at 4 this morning.

Independently I'm sure. I have a better supply on my right side than left cos I feed more from the right overnight. I try not to but I feed lying down so it's easier for me to feed from that side. I'm definitely lop sided lol

I couldn't say for certain, but I'd have thought it was independent since some people end up feeding from just one side permanently when they have supply problems with the other side. There's a little bit on kellymom about it

Ally I was wondering for that reason- I was trying to just feed off one side over night to build up enough in the other to express in the morning, but then was worrying as I know it's important to get the night feeds to stimulate supply so was worrying by not feeding off one side through the night it wouldn't produce as much the next day then.
Thanks for that link deedee, I'll have a look

I've always got more off one boob than the other. I expressed and got into a routine of pumping from my left boob first as I am right handed. even though I always did the same amount of time I got more off consistently. I could see exactly the amount I'd pumped in the bottles.
