do / did you use reins Once your lo was walking? If so, did you have the backpack style or just normal?

We use reins, just normal ones, I didn't like the backpack style ones as I didn't like the strap iyswim? We have some multicolour clippasafe ones and they've been fab...ours came with a separate attachment where you can use as a harness in trolleys/chairs as we'll which is useful at times x

I tried reins for S, tbh though I'm not a fan. It hold them in such a way that they were short do he was walking close to me. S learnt very fast that he could lift his legs and 'fly' because of this. Both my boys have done a lot of walking since 18months school runs and such. I felt the best way for me anyway was just enforcing we don't move unless they are holding my hand. Even S and the terror he is knows now to always hold hands.

We've got the little life backpack thing.

We haven't really needed to use reins with my LO, however we will when we go on holiday in a few weeks.
My dad used to use dog leads when we were little, the one where you could choose how long the "leash" was, and lock it at a certain distance, it's a blooming good idea, so we'll use this with my LO's reins when on holiday :-)

I have a little life backpack. J is fine outing on the backpack but stands and screams when I attach the reins to it. Grr.

I don't use them. Got some, used them for 5 minutes, hated them.
I enforce handholding instead. I found it taught them road safety/rules when out and about a lot easier than them being allowed to "wander" so far on their own.

I use a little life back pack. Ive enforced hand holding though and the reins are attached to my hand round my wrist as a back up if I need 2 hands for a moment.

Both. When zoe first started walking we did buy the Little Life backpack but it didn't really work as was too big for her, so just got cheap basic reins from Boots which were great. Once she got a bit older we switched ot the backpack.

we got standard ones from Boots. they were multi coloured, but I think they only do blue/pink now which is a shame. why do retails persist in making products gender speific?we needed them because Luke was prone to falling so it was safer to use them to keep him upright during a trip or fall.
