sorry can't start new threads still!
I am 12 days post c section and wondered how long it took most to get back to normal? I am still very sore but my wound is possibly infected and my tummy got badly bruised during surgery. I have back ache and period type pains and just need to know I will feel 'normal' again soon!
It's my third section but each one has been very different so can't remember how long it took!
Also any tips for faster healing/recovery?
thanks in advance!
Your post is blank. I have had 3 c sections. If I can be of any help just ask.

With my third c section I decided to take it as easy as I could. I would honestly say it probably took me a good 4 weeks to feel totally 'normal' again. Although I was doing most things straight away. I have been lucky and my wound has never been infected. If you think your wound it I am sure that won't aid your recovery. You should get it checked out.

thanks mossy, I've had to push for the midwife to check my wound out properly as I also had an infection after the first section, she took swabs which I can call for the results of tomorrow. I'm itching to get out and get back to normal but still feel sore (especially at night) and don't want to over do it. maybe im expecting too much too soon, 4 weeks is probably more realistic!

With my second section I thought I was fine and could do absolutely everything! In fact by pushing myself too early- heading off to the local shopping centre for the day etc. I think it took me longer to recover. I decided that nothing was urgent with my 3rd section. By me recovering carefully my children would have me back to them fitter much sooner.

Im the same, I was in town shopping after a week but regretted after and felt worse than before.
I think it just feels like it been forever and I should feel better by now but seeing it written down I realise it is still early days!
my H is great and is doing all the housework, school runs and cooking etc so I should just try to enjoy it really!

You will feel normal again soon, I have had two sections - the first I only took about a week to feel normal again and the second was more like 2-3 and I was very very bruised. Not to mention being busier with having an older child at home too. So I imagine with it being your third it may take that little bit longer.

hope you feel a bit better soon.

I'm 18weeks post CSection and still, don't feel normal. I'm forever telling H to watch my scar when we are messing around, and certain clothes still seriously hurt me. Still I won't do high impact exercise, or low impact but that's lazyiness!
I too, rushed way too quickly, well not rushed, but I felt ready when I shouldn't have been, and so probably wasn't.
My sterile plaster thing came off by day 5 and I could bend down by day 7 and pick things up. On day 4 I walked into the village and back pushing E in her pram, which is about 1-2 miles perhaps (I'm rubbish with distances,, but took 40mins), then the following weeks were visitor after visitor - who of course I tooked after. H did the washing and hovering for a few weeks, and i'd hang the higher stuff and the only think I couldn't do is bath the babs. Then he went away when E was 4-5 weeks and of course I didn't have an option but to lift the carrycot, carseat, bath E etc.
At 3 weeks the MW said I was fine to drive, so again I did. Wasn't until E was 7 weeks that I could wear my jeans etc - they all fit from the start but I couldn't have anything touvhing my scar! And my bleeding also stopped around the same time.
Hope that your scar isn't infected and you feel more you soon.
