The last 3/4 days I've had what I'm sure is reflux......Acid sensation in my throat, feeling like food is on it's way back up. Lying down to sleep made it worse but eventually I just fell asleep and by the morning was fine. It's started again today about 2hrs ago. It's manageable at the moment but I was wondering what I could take if it felt worse? I googled around and milk was a suggestion.....unfortunately that has settled the sensation abit but has now made me feel sick by churning around in my stomach - not a great trade! Is there anything over the counter I can try?

Gaviscon or Rennies are you first port of call, hopefully they'll improve things. You have my sympathies, reflux sucks!

Gaviscon do some "double action" liquid and chewable tablets. I find these work the best.
If you sort out your maternity exemption card you can get gaviscon on prescription for free.

How did I not know that imp, I should have flipping shares in gaviscon the amount I'm getting through!

definately gaviscon! My doctor prescribed me the liquid as I too was getting through gallons! I got to the stage in my last few weeks that I was just drinking it from the bottle, I didn't even measure it out anymore

Gaviscon was my friend last time for the last 10 or so weeks of pregnancy, just waiting for it to hit this time. like missdeedee I ended up drinking it straight from the bottle (and a huge presribed bottle it was too!!) if you do get it prescribed make sure they indicate the type as there is mint or liquorice (which I hate!)

Gaviscon and Rennes tablets are your friends! I have a bottle of Gaviscon on my bedside table and usually have a swig of that and then a Rennes tablet just as I am lying down to go sleep. Seems to keep the reflux away for long enough to sleep.
Plus sleeping slightly propped up on pillows will help to fight the gravity!
