Hi, I have 2 boys an almost 2 year old and a 9 month old, I decided to start using reusable nappies about a month ago and got some through the local council as part of a scheme thing. I have tried using them with those flushable inserts and was really looking forward to it. BUT (and this is a big but) they always, always leak with my oldest son and my youngest has started getting a really bad rash where the insert is, I had to stop using them but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and managed to get it sorted? I really really want to use reusables but don't want my son to keep having rashes, is it possible a different brand would make the difference?

I've recently started using fleece liners which have helped keep the bottom dry. I have found the nappy lady good for advice. Www.thenappylady.co.uk

What nappies are you using and are you boosting?

I was just going to ask exactly the same CK!
Waitrose Bottom Butter is brilliant for clearing up nappy rash without clogging cloth nappies up. I use it on E at the first sign of redness and it usually stops it developing.

With M we use pocket nappies with 2 bamboo inserts during the day and get about 4 hours out of a nappy (sometimes more) and he is a heavy wetter. Fleece liners are much better for us than the flushable ones. Weleda Nappy Cream is great for rashes, we use it daily on M as he really suffers.

Could be the brand of nappy as well - I've heard some are better for long, slim babies and some for short, chubby babies - again The Nappy Lady will advise!

Just looked them up. You might want to boost your bigger sons more. We need at least 2 bamboo for pockets for my 2yr old. Toddler wees are a challenge for cloth
