    Hi everyone,

Over the last few days I have developed a really painful spot under my right boob right in the middle of my ribs which is really painful, I'm not sure if it is baby's foot that is stuck in there or just the pregnancy pains that no one really warns you about.

Any ideas, and if anyone has experienced it what has helped to relieve the discomfort/pain of it.

    Thanks
    MrsJ

I've had it too, it really hurts! I rubbed it one day for ages and the baby pulled what must have been a foot or hand out and down, it didn't go back again!!! ha ha. I don't know how that happens that the baby is in your ribs, bit mad.

I had this too! Mine was under my left boob though. I also had a numb/itchy patch over where the pain was. Mw said it was ribs being pulled out & that the numb patch was to do with stretched nerves.

I found a bit of Savlon with local anaesthetic eased the itchy numbness a bit, but I didn't find anything that helped the pain. Really sorry! :\(

    hiya

rib pain is rubbish! ive had it all the way through. it was worse around 20-28weeks i couldnt even laugh or breath.
im due sunday and his still beating my rib cage! it just makes me grit my teeth now with a sharp pain every so often rather then a horrible dull throbbing pain.
i used loads and loads of cocoa butter every night after having a soak in the tub which was great just to massage my bump, and its good for keeping away stretch marks
swimming is really good if it hurts as it takes all the pressure away.
    hope that helps at all?

Hello MrsJules, keep a wee eye on this huni, not wanting to scare you but I developed Pre-Eclampsia at 36 weeks and the only symptom I had was a niggling uncomfy pain top right hand side of bump under ribs (no HBP or any other common symptoms), As I say not wanting to worry you but if it continues defo worth mentioning to your MW, it was actually my liver having difficulty functioning and PE kicking in big style. 26weeks (ish) can be when PE can start to happen. Sure it is just a foot or muscle though but thought I would reply x

Just copyed and pasted this reply I sent to another mummy to be who had rib pain!

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your comments, I did do an "google" on it too and it does seem pretty common thing to happen.

I had a bit of a funny turn as well yesterday on the train on the way into work, thought I was going to faint and was very hot even though the air con was on and everyone else was shivering.

I put it down to overdoing it at the weekend and being tired and uncomfortable.

I will mention it to my midwife next Tuesday when I am seeing her for my 28 week appointment - see what she can recommend too.

Currently typing this from a half prone position on the sofa (working from home today) as it's more comfortable than sitting upright

I'm so glad I saw this. At about 18 weeks I was adament I had a foot under my ribs but everyone said it was a bit early. It's under my left rib and kinda feels like a horrid pain but like something is stuck in there. I can hardly move or breath for ages then it just goes. I keep seeing funny spots too so goign to mention it to mw tomorrow at my routine check up to make sure it's nothing sinister.
I have tried everything but it seems to be inside. It does seem pretty common so I think it's one of those general niggles we get!xxx
