She posted on FB last week with a pic of J (who is adorable!) and it sounds like he's doing well. I'll send her a message to let her know you're asking after her x

Thnak deedee for getting message to me, as deedee rightly says I'm rarely on md at the moment for obvious reasons, but am found generally on fb if anyone wants to add me.
J is progressing slowly but surely. We're still in NICU, he came off breathing support yesterday, and is currently in nasal cannula as he likes *something* wafting up his nose, but only a teeny amount (0.03l). He's doing well with his feeding, he wakes for food (a lot) and is learning to bottle feed wch he's pretty good at" he's mixed feeding as I don't produce much breast milk despite domperidone so he's a bit breast milk and the rest formula.
His main issue is his continuing tendency to forget to breathe! He has apneas and bradys at least once a day which means we can't move out to low dependency until he remembers. It still makes me giggle they give him caffeine to make his brain more switched on!
We're resigned to the fact he'll be in for Christmas and we're ok with that - 9 weeks ago I wasn't sure he'd come home at all. He's now 9 weeks old and 36 weeks gestational age. Corrected gestational age is still - 1 month!
Im ok. I have a lot of anxiety and flashbacks to when he was born and am having some counselling to help. I'd like to have a birth debrief I think when things are more settled to see exactly what happened and why certain things went the way they did. But we are fairly sure J is our last child - we couldnt go through this again, and I would be so high risk in another pregnancy. We are blessed to have J and E, and I'm at peace with that.
Thanks so much for asking after us, I'm sure the power of md helps! Will add a picture from my mobile shortly. If anyone feels they want to add me on fb then please do - I'm on there a little more.
