If any one has been in similar situation before or know more, Please suggest on scenario and outcome!
As on today '12th Sep' I should be 11w+4 Pregnant considering the first day of my last period was 23rd June. As I noticed some spotting hence preponed my 12w scan and went to hospital to assure myself. However Scan reflected that results are more like 5w pregnancy unlike my expectation of 10/11w
As I was quite sure on my dates, the possibilities the suggested are i) Hormones acting funny ii) Slow growth of baby iii)Posible termination of Pregnancy. However they have suggested to keep an eye on Spotting and come for a scan on 26th week (that is 2 weeks from this scan). I am nervous and scared!
Kindly suggest if some know about any such similar situation and the outcome.

Were they not able to detect a heartbeat to confirm anything? I know two people that miscarried without knowing it (the baby died, but their bodies didn't get rid of the baby) and found out at ultrasounds because they were several weeks behind the size that the baby should have been...if you are pretty sure on your dates, 5 or 6 weeks is a concerning size difference in my opinion. I would double check or get a second opinion on it.

Hi niki... Sorry to hear you're going through this. If you are sure on your dates then I'm really sorry to say that that doesn't sound like good news. I was in a similar position with my first pregnancy and it was confirmed that I had what's called a 'missed miscarriage'... Where the baby passes away but our bodies don't recognise this & so we don't miscarry naturally. I should have been 9 weeks but the scan showed baby measuring 6 weeks & there was no heartbeat.
Did the Doctors find that your baby had a heartbeat?
2 weeks is a long time to leave you in limbo like this... I would absolutely suggest going to your GP on monday & asking them to do a 'quantitative HCG blood test'. This is 2 blood tests done 48 hours apart to measure the amount of hcg (pregnancy hormone) in your blood. If the numbers are going down then this indicates that you have / are going to miscarry... If they go up... That will give you some hope. If you explain the scan results I'm sure your GP will understand your worry & agree to the blood tests.
good luck Niki & keep us posted x
