Does such a thing exist?
My parents are taking two holidays over the summer, my mum looks after E whilst I'm at work. We can't afford to go at the same time as they are going in peak season and I don't think H has enough holiday to take off and have E. I'm a contractor so if I don't work, I don't get paid.
The outlaws both work and I'm reluctant to leave her with them anyway. Would a nursery take her for such a short time?

When is it? I might be able to have her on the Thu/Fri if we can work out the logistics!
Otherwise some nurseries do short term care - I know one in central Reading does.

Would it be worth seeing if you could get a short term nanny? I'm sure there must be some that are in between jobs who would be able to do it. Or phone round some nurseries and childminders, I'm sure there must be some that would offer it. They may have spare spaces over the summer as I know some nurseries offer term time places to teachers

Some nurseries do short term places over the hols. Ours is popular with teachers as it allows them to just use it term time, and then they fill those empty places during school hols with older kids who would normally be in school like a "holiday club" type thing. So may be worth calling a few nurseries to ask

Wjt said- nurseries that accommodate term time only kids are bound to have space in the holidays

I'm a childminder and i have done short term contracts for parents, my minded children are now also going to other childminder for 6 weeks whilst I'm on maternity leave and are returning to me after. Its another option to consider. Or are there any creches near you, I know someone that uses a creche for odd weeks here and there with no long term commitments.

I'm a nanny and have done one-off jobs for parents when I was temping for a nanny agency when between jobs.

You can definitely get a nanny for a one off, but you might have to use an agency.
She can come here on a Mon and a Tues!

Excellent! So it might be worth talking to some nurseries after all. I'll make some calls in the next week.
SL, hopefully I'll find something near home or work, but it's very lovely of you to offer!
