    Hi,

This is a question mainly for anyone who's in the latter stages of pg but I would welcome any opinions.

For xmas me and hubby were given tickets to see Peter Kay live in November. We both love him and are really looking forwrad to it. But then I got pg and although I'm only 9 weeks at moment (so hope I'm not tempting fate by asking this at this early stage) the concert is only 6 weeks before my due date.

It is also in Cardiff (about 160 odd miles from where we live) and on a school night (I'm a teacher) so we would have to drive up after work and back home again after its finished so i could go to work next day.

My question is will I be ok to go do you think? In terms of tiredness etc etc. I really want to go but just wondering if it's realistic to think I'll be up to it?

Thanks for any advice/opinions on this
    xx

It's hard to say for definate, if all is going well and it's a one off and you get a good rest the night before you should manage - you can even have a kip in the car on the way home! Im 35+4 and when I get home from work most nights I am knackered and have been throughout pregnancy, However the last 3 Friday nights I've been straight out from work for various parties and have had great nights. Feel more tired the day after but hey we best get used to lack of sleep...

Hope your pregnancy goes well and you manage the gig x

    thanks for the replies,

excitedmummy2b I don't plan on going on maternity leave until 2 weeks before due date (mostly for financial reasons) so would still be at work. But I don't want to miss it so will go and suffer the tiredness the next day!

I'd definately go!! Like MrsB27 says - you can have a nap on the way home. If you decide against it though I know someone who'd bite your hand off for the tickets lol!!!
I'm not going on maternity until 2 weeks before edd either - ploughing on through, we must be mad!!!x

you will probably leep on the way back! everytime we got in the car towards the end i would sleep, even if it was a 10 min journey! go and have fun. you might be too tired for work at that stage. i stopped working at 32 weeks as i had 4 weeks sick before mat leave started with spd. i couldnt keep wandering arond the classroom and getting up and down. did a week sat on a desk so i could see them all and the children came to me with issues but it just got too painful.

you won't really know how you feel until the time to be honest. i thought i'd be feeling amazing at 6 weeks before my EDD but i have SPD and can hardly walk...you might be feeling very irritable and tired, you might be huge, you might be considered a high risk at that stage...you really won't know!!! but then you might be totally fine.

just wait and see how you feel.

i'm 34+3 so roughly at the stage you would be, i also work in a primary school. We travelled to see dh's family 200 miles away and it totally wore me out but we did stay a weekend and i didn't sleep well the whole time. I'd manage a night out no problems but the laughing really hurts. Watched russell howard and ended up crying in agony with stomach muscles cramping from laughing so much. I would go if i were you! I am tired but feel it regardless of what i do so may as well get some enjoyment from it too! good luck for a healthy happy pregnancy x
