At 16 weeks i was offered the quad test to check for downs syndrome and spinal biffida. At first i booked for it then changed my mind at the last minute... now im regretting it. I just thought at the time that there was no way i'd want further testing as it could result in miscarraige so there was no point, also im only 21 so my chances of having a healthy baby are quite good anyway. Ive since had my anomally scan and everything seemed fine but now i cant help but wonder should i have had the test to prepare myself in case theres something not right? Maybe its just because of recent articles ive read about and hearing about somebody who recently terminated a downs baby, i dont know...am i just having pregnancy paranioa with all these hormones flying about the place? has anybody else turned down the tests or feel similar to this? Any thoughts would be much appreciated thanks x

Iya han21, l also turned this test down because I know if there was anything wrong I wouldnt have had a termination, and also even if they say there is a high risk of something being wrong its not 100% and could cause a lot of unnessecary stress over a baby that is perfectly healthy, I wouldnt worry too much chances are your baby will be fine x

I also turned this down (although in my case it was the tripple test), I wouldn't have had amnio or abortion no matter what the result and if it came back showing an increased risk I would have just worried more. I decided that in this case ignorance was bliss.
