i had one last time. i loved it! very comfy for baby, and good round shops. it is quite robust and heavy, but i found this good as it made it very sturdy and hardwearing. the only reason im not using it this time is because its difficult to push onehanded and i need to with having a toddler. x

    hiya

This is one of the ones we looked at as I liked the look of it, however the car seat didnt seem to get great reviews. The only other thing is I dont think that it faces the parent when in pushchair mode which I wanted, especially if the baby outgrows the pram part quite quickly. Good points are that it looks really comfy for baby and you get all the extras with it which a lot of travel systems dont do. Hope this helps

    Hi

We looked at the SC 3D, but decided against it based on some of the reviews I'd read.
Also, as Autumn pointed out, when it's in the pushchair mode, it doesn't have the option of parent facing. That was an important point for me.

We've gone with the Silver Cross Linear Freeway, which is very similar to the 3D, but you have the option of parent facing.

The Silver Cross Ventura car seat is very bulky and heavy so we've not gone with that option.

All silver cross prams look very cosy!

We had the 3d with our first baby. It has pros and cons as they all do. The car seat is very heavy and the pram is too so when using as a travel system its VERY heavy!

Its lovely to look at and had adjustable handles, it can be folded up in pram mode with the cot still attached which is a bonus but the pram mode is quite small and only last till there about 12 weeks and my dd was quite small.

The basket is a bit useless

I think you will find fault with all prams though.. go and test drive it xx

Just asked my friend at work as I was looking at this pram - this was her reply:

NO NO NO NO NO don't get the silver cross! Worst ??300ish i ever spent! Are you talking about the silver cross 3d? That's the one we bought when i was preg with XXXXX and ok it seemed fine at the time but there are so many better options out there.

My personal recommendation is the mothercare mychoice. Does everything, can have it as pram then buggy, fairly lightweight, can use with car seat, one handed steering, parent facing or fwd-facing option. If i was doing it all over again i'm 99% sure i'd get this one.

I've got one, and I lurve it! The only disadvantages to us were that it couldn't parent-face, and that it was a bit heavy. The second one was just me being a bit picky, and I knew we'd have to compromise so we did. We got ours second hand on eBay from a lady who'd not really used it because she'd been given a posh three wheely all-terrain jobby, and she liked mountain walking so it was better for her! The advantages for me are:
The pram mode isn't bulky, it's just fabric and stiff plastic inserts, and we didn't want a big carry cot type thing hanging around our flat!
The pram bit is machine washable
All the pushchairy bots are machine washable
It's got a nice big basket
It's got separate handles so I can hook my shopping bags round it,
It came with a bunch of accessories that other pushchairs didn't seem to have included.
Folds up into one piece, rather than having to carry separate bits like a pram top (and I live in a first floor flat, so didn't want to be going up and down stairs millions of times to fetch pram bits!)

We were worried by the bad reviews too, in the end we decided to just go for it, and I'm so glad we did.

We had it with our DD and i loved it too, very good for a winter baby too as i loved it as a pram, if you have the car seat on it then it can be parent facing, but my DD was more interested in looking out so didnt mind that it wasnt parent facing, also everything can come off and be washed, still looks fab 16mths on! it folds up and can stand up on its own so is great for storage x

I got warned against this one when looking at it in John Lewis by the shop assistant. She said that the car seat was super heavy and had a problem with it whereby it only fits in certain cars and the rest of the system is just really heavy to push.

    Fingerscrossed,

I really liked the look of the 3D too but ended up getting their brand new model "The Surf" and i love it! Ok..so i my baby isnt here yet and i'm not actually using it yet - but i've played with it indoors LOADS!!! ha ha.
It's easy to collapse, really easy to steer and lightweight. I really think i'm going to love it

We had the mothercare atlan travel system for my son (and no 2 will use it too) for the first 6 months and it was fine - not too heavy and cheap and comfy for my son (we weren't bothered about him facing us...when he was small he was asleep and then from about 12 weeks he was semi sat up when awake and happy nosing around) and then we bought the silver cross pop buggy cause we wanted something light and small.

Yep..that wasn't answering your question i know..but what I actually wanted to say was if you do go for a silver cross buggy of any sort - I can highly recommend them for their customer service! We did fortunately register online for the extra years guarantee iwth the pop - and its broken twice on us (I think the crappy pavements round here have a lot to answer for) and Silver Cross's customer service is excellent. The first time it broke - the brakes had gone dicky and the wheel bearing was knackered, they collected it on a monday and had it back to us on the thursday all fixed - and then they even sent me a free extra rain cover when i mentioned that the poppers on ours were a bit knackered. The second time (one of the bolts on the bottom broke!) they collected it on a wednesday and I had it back on the friday. I think we have been just unlucky with the 2 problems and it wouldn't stop me buying from silver cross agian because of the excellent customer service.
