I'm terribly cack-handed. Hubby is not keen on the idea of a sling (his first baby) but would like to give it a try.
Neither of us are small, and my lad was 9lb 5 and came out looking ready to play rugby so I am not anticipating a teeny-tiny bundle.
A bad experience early on will doubtless put us off for good. What would be an easy-peasy stress-free sling to start with for us to hopefully build on from?

A Connecta. So easy. Just three buckles and you're ready to go.
Or something like a Close Caboo if you prefer something stretchy.
A close (now called caboo) or a connecta I would say.
The Connecta, it has clips (rather than ties) so I always felt the baby was secure. It was easy to adjust to fit both H (6'2) and myself (5'2).
Great minds Isis

Brilliant! I knew there'd be a solution! Any reason not to try and get one on eBay nearer the time? A secondhand one is fine?

Yes but hard to come by on eBay. They go for not much less that the price new when you include postage. Sometimes people on here sell them so keep an eye out or post a Wanted maybe when it suits you.

Definitely a connecta, I have zero coordination not to mention patience but I got it from the first time I tried it. Second hand is fine.

eBay is fine but they do keep their value. Caboo were recently on zulily so might be worth keeping an eye out.
I love that we all said the same thing lol

Yep I vote connecta too!

I have a big 'un - 9.9 at birth and very long and connecta is fab for us. Like others have said they really hold their price second hand but if you buy new you know you won't struggle to sell it on when the time comes. They are £62 new inc postage but can last up to 18m I think.

My hubby loves the connecta for ease

The connectas are very popular now and are quite easy to put one (i have one myself), but for a new born and ease of putting on you can't beat a manduca. At my sling meet, more new mums have chosen the manduca over a connecta once they've tried one out (myself included). I'drecommend getting along to a local meet and trying some out before you buy as there are loads out there and different types suit different people. There may also be a sling library local to you which would allow you loan of one.

Another Connecta vote. They're just so easy to use.
