Iv bee lurking now and then when I get a minute. Henry has been a real handful and we've alot going on with him. He's been taken to a and e twice because his feeding has reduced dramatically. His silent reflux is so severe that every feed is a night are and he's in agony. Then he's in agony afterwards. In fact the only time he's not in pain is en he's asleep which isn't right.
last night was spent at a and e and managed to get a paed consultant who prescribed neocate to try and stay on the omeprazole even though after 10 days on that no change yet. At least there's something we can try for now. She was better than my awful gp who hasn't done a thing.
Speaking of her, she did his 6 week check and couldn't find his soft spot. She said if its fused together it will need surgically opening but shes waiting for him to be seeN by the consultant at his follow up on 19th April. The consultant yesterday felt jbis soft spot but it is very small. Anyone any experience?

No experience but sorry to hear things are still no better for Henry. Hope the neocate has a positive effect and Henry is lucky to have you fighting his corner x

Sorry to hear H is still having so many feeding problems, a and e was definitely the right thing to do, really hope the neocate makes a difference for him. Hope his follow up comes around quickly so they can start investigating things a bit further. Are his nappies still the same?

No experience at all - but sending you lots of virtual hugs xxx

Yes! Ella's was the same and they kept an eye on it but it was absolutely fine- apparently common so don't worry about him. Hope he's better soon lovely x

Oh really WS? Did it sort itself out? Do they keep checking it?
Bailey his nappies have actually been better on hipp as the mucus has gone!

It must have It was checked at each of her vaccination apts and then the HV kept checking as it was in her red book. Never said it was a problem and when we moved here, the paediatrician said it was fine.
Must be something in the milk not agreeing with him then, hopefully neocate will work and if not they can start doing testing on his poo so see how he is breaking down things . Ben has settled on the hipp milk now although does better on he liquid rather than the powder which isn't ideal as its so expensive.

No experience of the soft spot but plenty of reflux! Your gp sounds useless! I can totally sympathise with the baby in agony problem. In those early days I literally got about an hours broken sleep a night. It was awful. Is he ok upright on you? S would sleep on me at least but obviously didn't help with feeding. We were so lucky that we had a direct line to the neonate team as he was early. I really hope the omeprazole and new formula helps.

hope things turn a corner with the feeding soon

Have you managed to change GP yet? Jeez Louise, you're really going through it, aren't you? Really hope that the neonate works for H.
(I put a post on one of your other threads about private healthcare, not sure if you saw it, but if you ever need any more advice about private healthcare, you know where to come )

N is on Neocate still at 14 months, we had to wean him onto it one scoop at a time but he takes it brilliantly now. I really hope it works for H and for you too.
