Despite EBF my let down is progressively getting slower. It will now take 40 seconds of hard sucking for F to get milk which when he's hungry/tired feels like a lifetime and sometimes he gets so upset and frustrated he just pulls off and starts screaming. Is there anything I can do to speed up the let down?

I've had this problem with D a few times before. He went through a bought of this. All I can really suggest is to make sure the attachment is right and try to keep calm (easier said than done I know). Getting stressed can stop the letdown. Try turning off the television, have a quiet and calm atmosphere to feed in. Where there are no distractions for yourself and him. Focusing on looking at him could help trigger the letdown. I know this can be really frustrating, you have my sympathy. But I can tell you that I have been through this and come out the other side. It won't last forever.
When the letdown does come, do you feel you have plenty of milk? Could he maybe be going through a growth spurt and your supply is struggling to keep up?

I'd suggest hand expressing just before each feed so that the milk is stimulated before he latches on. Also sitting forward a bit could work.

Second what Tweetie pie said about sitting forward!

Thanks ladies that's extremely helpful. MummyS my supply seems fine but you might be right about the growth spurt as he's feeding more frequently and often on both sides whereas it was one at each feed previously. He's 4 months so in a wonder week as well. I'll try the tips and the sitting forward thing too! Thank you.

id try some breast compressions at the start to make the milk more readily available, can you try to latch him on a bit earlier so that its not getting to the stage where hes tired/hungry iyswim, maybe 5/10 mins earlier

Thanks RF - I actually used a hot facecloth at 3 am and it defo worked. F can be quite fussy with bf and doesn't use it for comfort so if I put him on when he's not ready/hungry he doesn't like it! It's the night feed which was causing the most upset so hopefully the hot cloth will help that!

Glad to hear the facecloth helped x
