I had pains in my right flank during the early hours last night after getting up for a wee, but managed to get off to sleep again. Got up at half 6, had a wee then went downstairs and had breakfast. No problem. Then when I went to have a shower, I noticed there was brown spotting in my knickers (defo wasn't there half hour before). I haven't had any since. I tried to contact the midwives but they were out of the office and after a bit of Googling and no more spotting, I didn't want to worry the on call midwife at the hospital. I have an appointment on Monday morning.
I did have spotting at 5 weeks and 8 weeks, and have had 3 early scans and obviously my nuchal, so it might be withdrawal bleeding, but I can't shake the niggly feeling I have. I've had tummy ache today, but I've been getting that a lot.
Has anyone else had bleeding in 2nd tri?

Any form of bleed then I'd get checked. I'm not sure your hospital policy ours is over 16 weeks you call maternity triage, under 16 weeks you call EPU.
Hopefully it's 'just' a bleed but I definitely think it's worth checking, also with the flank pain you need your urine checking to rule out uti.

Meant to say this is pregnancy 6 for me and the last twice Iv bled in second tri. I bled to 18 weeks last time and around 15 this time. This time I seemed much calmer with it (was still vvvvvv worried but last time I was absolutely hysterical as I'd never had it before iyswim), this time my bleed changed around 10 weeks and became quite brown and foul smelling and I phoned thinking they'd just reassure me but they were insistent I went in for swabs and follow up scan.
It's worth phoning I think

Thanks RF - I phoned the "on call midwife" (who's number was on the answerphone message from the comm MW) on your advice and it turns out it was the labour ward! Unfortunately they can't see me until I'm 24 weeks. She suggested to go and see my GP in the morning. I haven't got any dysuria, so hopefully it's not a UTI. I've been drinking plenty today though.

I'd keep pestering on call MW. I've had similar in 2nd tri and after tests, both me and baby fine and no cause found.

Just an update:
I went to see my GP Thursday morning, who suggested I go to A&E. Obviously - being an ex-A&E nurse - I didn't think it was that bad as I'd not had any more spotting but had had more pain, so tried to get hold of the community midwife. No luck. After a lot of deliberating, I phoned the on-call midwife at the hospital, who suggested I go to the GP and when I explained what he'd said, told me to go to A&E.
Hubby took me to A&E, where I was seen by the obs and gynae doctor who reassured me and we heard baby's heartbeat for the first time.
So all is well but I don't know what caused it all!

O that's good (although what a nightmare just trying to be seen), I'm an ex a&e nurse too and in my last pregnancy I was bleeding vvvv heavily and ended up in a&e as was concerned about blood loss so I totally understand you going.
Hope that's the end of the scares now and it's all very boring from now on

Thanks so much for your advice (and for the "boring" wishes!)

Glad all is ok :) hope it's all plain sailing from now on!

Yay. Glad all ok. 3 weeks on from when my bleeding started and still no cause found. I think sometimes it's just 1 of those things x
