    Hi ladies,

This morning when walking to the train station after having a pint of squash, I started getting quite sharp, stabbing pains in my groin area - when I put my left foot down it seemed worse than my right, but it was in time with when I walked rather than a constant pain (ie. when I put my foot down I felt the pain). It almost felt like the baby was bouncing off my bladder with her hand or something!

Anyway, it's happened a few times now, and it doesn't last for that long but it's very uncomfortable when it does happen, and I was just wondering if anyone else has had it?

I wondered whether it might be the baby bouncing off my bladder but it doesn't feel exactly the same as when she squashes my bladder normally - I'm 33+4 though so I wondered if she's moving down a bit so it feels worse. My in laws said my bump looks like it's dropped a bit when I saw them last weekend but I can't notice a difference, I think I carry quite low anyway, but at my 31 week appt she said baby was still very free.

I do have my 34 week mw appt next Wednesday so I'll ask her about it then but I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has had it.

    Kat xx

Haven't had that exact pain but i do get the odd sharp pain, think it's stuff moving and stretching inside. Squash could've made it worse because you had a full stomach and everything presses on everything else because baby pushes it all out of the way. Hope MW can reassure you next week xx

sounds like sciatica to me, very common in pregnancy, particularly later on when baby is big and latying across nerves on a regular basis, especially as its running down ur leg. i'm afraid theres not much u can do, just keep an eye on ur posture (stand up straight, v pillow at ur lower back when sitting etc, make sure if u lift anything u do it correctly etc)..good news is it will clear up after baby is here, and might ease a little as she drops down further off of ur nerves. hth xx

It's not actually running down my leg, it's like it's near my bladder but can't really tell if it's my bladder/cervix or what! I suppose it could be a nerve thing though, I hadn't really thought of that!

Thankfully it doesn't happen very often, it's just happened a few times, but it's bloomin' painful when it does happen!! xx

    hi,

just wanted to say that i noticed a similar type of pain and lots of shooting pains in my lady bits mainly when walking from about 34 weeks - i was hopeful baby was engaging but at 36 weeks they were only 1/5th engaged and 2 weeks later 2/5ths engaged - when my waters went and my baby was born (5 days late) she still wasnt engaged so i dont think its necessarily anything i think it may just be one of those pregnancy pains that some women get?

    Hope this makes sense lol...

    Lx
