Unfortunately stretch marks are due to your own genetic history. Personally I had stretch marks before pregnancy. Didn't get any during pregnancy but DID get them in the days after giving birth! I don't know any that actually make any difference but bio-oil is good for your skin if you do get them. HTH.

WSS. I've got stretch marks from before pregnancy and was convinced I'd get them during or post pregnancy but I haven't. I used bio oil once a day from late 1st Tri and in 2nd Tri I started using Cusson's bump butter once a day. I'm really not sure if they actually helped or not though. I kinda figure, if you're going to get them, you'll get them. I was out to try and do damage limitation.

I had stretch marks before pregnancy. I used normal cocoa butter on & off (when I remembered) with my last pregnancy & surprisingly didn't get any more stretch marks. I'm doing the same this time, none so far but still too early to be out of the woods yet!!

I didn't get any my first pregnancy, I used bump oil sporadically but not regularly. Second pregnancy I assumed I wouldn't get any either, wrong! Stomach is a mess. Every cream and option under the sun slapped on this time but didn't help, they just got worse and worse. Post pregnancy they're beginning to fade, but I don't think my stomach will ever look quite the same again. :-(

Mine started about 30 weeks - plenty of them but they are not that real angry red colour, maybe because I've continued to moisturise & oil 2/3 times a day.
I'm not concerned , my stomach has always been my worst part, never been flat etc so I'm not going to start stressing about it now!

I didn't get any but I think it's all to do with genetics, if you're going to get them you will, annoying as it sounds! But putting on cream is good anyways and made me think I was doing something to stop them. I used bio oil until about 20 weeks and then coco butter after that.

I used bio oil and never got any but it's totally genetic I think. My mum never got any on her stomach either but we've both got them on our hips and legs and I've had them for years.
I loved rubbing the oil in to my tummy every night even if it didn't do anything. It's a nice ritual, especially when baby is all active and starts kicking away!

Thanks everyone, I won't waste my money on the bepanthen stretch mark cream then, I'll just stick to cocoa butter. Luckily I don't have any on my stomach but my thighs and hips are like a road map so I'm pretty sure I'll get them!

I didn't get any stretchmarks during pregnancy - however post-birth I'm now a mess of them! My stomach is covered as are my hips and thighs - totally didn't expect them to appear after baby was here so just be aware it might happen !

So glad I'm not alone! I only had one or two on my hips while pregnant but in the coue of days after giving birth my stomach was covered in them! They are already starting to fade but it's so frustrating as I thought I'd got away with it!
