Whilst we love our "big" pushchair (Britax B-Ssmart 3) it is proving a pain in the bum to try and squeeze into the car when we go away and H has been mumbling about getting a stroller for our next trip in June. He was saying he wants to spend as little as possible, but at the same time, I would expect that we would be using it for potentially a couple of years yet so it needs to last.
E is 8.5 months old now so will be nearly a year when we go away next, if that makes any difference.
What strollers would you recommend? What features do we need to look for?

I have a Chicco London stroller which we bought for about £55 in Mothercare 2 years ago. It's suffering now but has done us proud. We chose it mainly because it was neutral colours, came with raincover and footmuff included in the price and reclines.

We bought a reworked Petite Zia+ from www.nurseryvalue.com/.../default.aspx - we've actually had 2 of them both from here because the first one got lost on a flight back from one holiday! It's a great pushchair, it lies flat, decent enough sized storage underneath, folds up small, easy to push and steer, and very light weight, plus the handles have an adjustable height. They both pretty much looked like new apart from a couple of little scuffs on the frame, and I'm sure they'd got brand new wheels as well, and even now the second one is in really good condition (although hasn't been used for about a year now).

The Zia always gets fab reviews, as does the Maclaren Quest XT (though looks wise it doesn't do it for me) ....at the mo we have a mothercare vio (looks just like a Quinny Zapp) which does the job but I would like something better x

Another vote for the zia, I bought one a couple of weeks back to replace the £35 koochi one from amazon, it did us a year but the zia miles better to push. Also, invest in a buggie snuggle, they are fab x

I got a 2nd hand Maclaren XT which I really love.. so nice to push and has suspension so comfy for LO! O always has a nice sleep in it! Also has a fab hood that upzips and has an extra section so it comes down lower to shield baby when its very sunny. Also like the Maclaren Quest, its more basic than XT but folds small and is nice to push, very lightweight.

I've have a cheap koochi one, which to be honest is fine and cost about £20 (bought for 1st now 5 year old)! Also had a silvercross pop which was easier to push and lay flat so better for babies still napping, but I've sold that now I have a 2.5 year old as she looked too squashed in it, and gone back to the koochi!

I've got a,baby jogger city mini and have had for almost 2 years. My big almost 3 year old still goes in it comfortably. Wasn't the cheapest option but has been perfect for us
