    Hi Ladies,

Something really small and stupid has got right up my nose and I need a rant. Right, here goes. My Husbands cousin, who I get on with really well has this girlfriend who is, shall we say, strange. She makes really inappropriate comments and is always moaning. Anyway, I always try my best to get on with her as its the woman he loves and thats what families do. So she is on my facebook friends. Well, whenever I speak about the baby on my statuses, I always use 'they' or 'them' as I don't know the sex of our baby and I point blank refuse to refer to our baby as 'it' (something my husbands family do quite often). Anyway, whenevr I refer to our littleone using those terms, she always says the same thing "are you sure you're not having twins" and when I tell her no Im not, she always pipes up" so why do you keep saying them or they". Now I know this is a really stupid thing to get stressed out about, but it's begining to make me feel a bit thick, which I'm far from. She has just remarked AGAIN about the whole twin thing, so I put that I refuse to call our baby an 'it', and she put, well I wouldnt call my baby it either. WELL THEN WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!

Even reading this I know i'm making a mountain out of a molehill and I am quite obviously in hormoan meltdown, I just needed to vent!!

Thanks ladies for listening to me whine, I feel better now!!

Actually, I think grammatically you are within your rights to refer to baby as "they". But perhaps you could think of a pet name for baby instead just so you can avoid the whole thing????? (PS It would bug me too!)

That would really annoy me as well, surely you telling her once would make her realise that you are not having twins, why would you hide such a thing if you had already told everyone about the pregnancy.

Pet name is a good idea though and nice way to bond with little one, as I'm in agreement and hate saying it as it sounds so negative for some reason.
