Went to dr yesterday with pains in left side, told it was normal and went home. Then called back in for urine test and bp, all ok. Dr left message with epau to call me next week. Got a call at 6.30pm from epau, they were very concerned that the pregnancy may be ectopic and told me to go in straight away. Had bloods taken, and internal examination. Was told I should stay in incase of rupture but I refused and went home. Going back tomorrow am for repeat bloods and scan. I'm only 5 weeks. Taken the day off work and am sat at home feeling sorry for myself and confused :(

Oh LMS. I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say. Crossing fingers very hard for you. Are you still in pain?

The pain isn't too bad, I feel so spaced out though, I tried describing it to the Dr but couldnt get accross what I meant.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I had a lot of pain in my left side when newly pregnant and was convinced it was ectopic. Had a scan and it was an ovarian cyst which is very very common x

Sorry and meant to say it went on its own by my 12 week scan x

How far gone were you when you had the scan MaisieMoo? With me only being 5 weeks Im not sure the scan tomorrow is going to give any answers.

Oh LMS, so sorry your having to go though this uncertainty. Have everything crossed for a positive outcome for you both xx

So sorry you're going through this. The worst part is the waiting in between the first set of bloods and the repeats. If it helps at all, when I had my ectopic pregnancy i was literally doubled over in pain and couldn't walk. I know everybody is different but I'm keeping everything crossed that if the pains aren't too bad then it isn't anything too serious. Big hugs x

Thank you everyone, I'm back in hospital due to light headedness, no pain at all though, surely that's a good sign? They've said my bloods were 1600 yesterday, does that mean anything on its own or do I need to wait and compare to the repeats tomorrow?

A scan will be able to locate position of baby, whether it's where it's supposed to be in the womb or whether it's in the Fallopian tube. They are unlikely to find a heartbeat at this stage but location is most important thing. My friend had an ectopic and she swearing, feeling like she was about to pass out and had excruciating pain in shoulder and left side. Like others have said, doubled over. Hope lack of pain is good sign and light headed ness is just general pregnancy feeling crappy stuff. Lots of love xx

*sweating* not swearing. Although she may well have been doing that too!
