C is nearly 3. We didnt do swimming g lessons from when he was a baby like we should have. As we are moving to a new area I thought I'd now wait until we move to enrol him for some lessons only when I researched the beginners class is for 6 months-18 months. The class that fits his age is for the 3rd class up! Have I just completely missed the swimming lesson boat???

c did some lessons last summer that were for 3+ and were pretty much beginners, although he wouldn't join in so it was a bit of a waste of money. He'll be 4 next week and still can't swim (we can never take him over winter months as he has a constant cough), I do worry about it a bit, but hopefully we'll do something about it now the weathers getting better - plus we're off on holiday next months so hopefully spending everyday in the pool for 2 weeks will help.

I would be surprised if he did. the baby classes at ours were with the parents in the pool. Lessons where they went into the pool with an instructor was different. My son started lessons at 3 and they weren't expected to be able to swim. I would check but it may be they just don't have different categories for the different types of lessons. TBH our local pool has changed the starting age for lessons without parents to 4, which with my younger child I found was better as that extra year gives them a better ability to listen to and understand the instructor, as well as being strong enough and coordinated enough to learn to swim.

The lessons up until 3 were just parent and child lessons and were more just having fun in the water. I wouldn't class them as proper lessons. A will be starting after the summer when she's 4 cos that's when they start proper lessons at our pool. I don't think she would have actually gone in the pool any younger than 4 on her own anyway

E has her name down for starting as soon as space comes up. Its expensive but worth it. I will wait for G to be able to do it without me in the water, so around 3 I think. Call the leisure centre - Larkfield one has a great deal if you pay by DD you get 4 free swims per month that anyone in the family can use - so G and C could go, or you and C etc.
