Oh god, feel weird writing this but feel a bit scared. My nether regions have been tender for a few days so I decided to get a mirror and have a look. Its SO swollen!!! Does this normally happen? Whats wrong with i? Should I see my midwife or call the maternity unit? It looks horrible, not sure what to do

Sorry to say but I think this is completely normal... it is the extra pressure meaning more blood supply to your nether regions that can make then take on a more "purply" colour and be more swollen looking.

It's another of those so pleasant pregnancy symptoms that nobody tells you about!!

It depends how swollen. Might be worth getting checked out. I left mine, thinking it was normal, turned out it was a 10cm abcess. Very painful. Please keep an eye on it, if it turns out to be something and you get it seen to early enough anti biotics may be all you need x

Hon I had this and then about 2 days later I got thrush. Keep an eye as it could be a sign thrush is on it's way but I found it helped to change my underwear frequently and have lots of strip washes with a cold flannel!
    Oh the joys! xxx
