Had a really good night with d last night, but this morning was back to staying awake for over 5 hourslow anthing to feed for over an hour. We had midwife and she said it sounded like coolic and to get some infacol. However have since noticed that her breath is a bit vomit smelling even though she isn't sick. A couple of times over past few days I have thought she sounded like being sick but nothing there, in fact only had 2 tiny bits of vomit since born. After googling seems more like silent reflux which said is only made worse with infacol so thinking about trying some ways of treating that first without medicine. Just wonder if anyone had experience of this and how they treated it and did it make any difference?

with silent reflux, a baby will often shows lots of signs of discomfort when feeding, lots of crying and arching of the back, they will also show the same signs when laying down flat, how is she when feeding?

She is ok when actually feeding, but it ends up being the only thing that comforts her and she ends up using me as a dummy or screaming blue murder for hours

Wbs. Sammy would make a sort of bleating noise, writhed about if you out him flat, and generally was only happy upright on me or in bouncy chair. He was never actually sick. He would only feed for a short while each time. Main thing is to make sure she's at an angle so prop up her basket at one end. Drs often give you gaviscon which bunged s up but works for some.
I hope you get her sorted because reflux is awful for parents and babies x

So after a total of 11 hours of screaming yesterday we took d to the gp at the hospital in early hours of the morning. The dr also thinks it silent reflux and we have been prescribed gaviscon. Have given her some this morning but don't want to give her lots because if the risk of constipation, the thought that this might not get any better for months is really not something I am looking forward to... I'm already on bare minimum sleep! Not sure how long gaviscon will take to work... If it will at all and not looking forward to belly upsets now

Oh you poor things, hope small doses of gaviscon work and there are so side effects. You know where I am I you need anything x
