Am 41 weeks today and doing ok, not fed up really, just uncomfortable and want to meet baby!
One thing I have found though is that the more days go by, the more I am worried that something is wrong. I know there isn't, he is moving lots, heartbeat sounds perfect etc but I just keep thinking it.
Anyone want to share late birth stories? Am booked in for induction on the 11th! :o)

Hello Chimp, I can share a story!
M was born at 40+11. I had a sweep at 40+2 - well I say I had a sweep, she attempted a sweep but cervix was too high and far back for her to even reach. I was booked for another at 40+9, got up that morning and my waters started leaking. Went in to hospital, confirmed waters had gone, monitored baby, all was okay so was sent home to get walking, bouncing on ball etc to get things moving. Returned the next morning for monitoring, again baby was fine, still no sign of contractions, so they booked induction for the following morning. Went in that day, got examined, was 3cm dilated (without knowing I'd been contracting) woop woop, so started on drip. M was born 6hrs later, all healthy etc :)
Other thing I found was that I'd been put forward 5 days at my scan, so if they'd went by my dates I'd have only been six days overdue if that makes sense? Not sure if something like that would apply to you?
Hope things start for you soon xx

Thanks both! :o)
I am willing to go for induction. Have my 4th lot of thrush now, which has travelled up and could possibly have got into my bladder and it is so bloody painful. Well done on sticking to your guns HF, I know how they can be very pushy in some places, my mw has been really good at letting me decide.
Weekender, I am hoping that the threat of a nasty drip will make him come, even on the morning I am booked in! I delivered after 6 hours too with B, after the drip. Got my ball out this evening, may sit on it in a bit just to move things about a bit lol. Dates are same as they were, I was one day out, couldn't remember when my lmp was!

I was 7 days over with my first had about 3 sweeps can't remember now how long after them my waters broke on their own and 8 hours after waters broke baby arrived. My second baby was 15 days late, loads of sweeps.... Nothing. So was booked in to be induced. They broke my waters at approx 2.30pm (nothing else was required) and then out he popped 2.5 hours later

I was a late one. 40+17. BUT I was moved out 4 days so perhaps it wasn't as much as +17... I was induced (and desperate to get my baby OUT!!). Gel in morning, lay still, then non-stop walking in the hospital corridors. Gel again around 2pm, still until 3. Non-stop walking.
Simultaneous sickness and diarrhoea at 6.30pm. Taken to labour ward. Progressed without issue. Had a bath during labour, attempted to stick with gas and air but the back pain was so bad they suggested pethidine at about 11.30pm. Things took off from there and baby was born at 00.30. 9lb 5 and totally natural. he came out dulled by the pethidine and was whipped away for oxygen but all was fine in the end.
For a first baby I thought 6 hours from first symptom to birth wasn't bad at all but the pregnancy was horrendous so I felt I deserved a break :)

Mermaid, really? Do they say why? I was offered one by my mw at 39 weeks but I declined it, then had one on my due date, refused one last week as the first one was so horrific! I can't dtd as have raging thrush and it is just too sore, which is a shame as one of my pregnancy side effects has been a very high libido! lol.
Yoyo, your induction story is promising. OH asked me if I was induced at 1pm on Wednesday as planned, will I have had the baby by Thursday night as he is meant ot be on nightshift...I bloody hope so! :)
Counter, six hours for a first is good. I was the same, waters trickled but no progress at 40+2, was set up on a drip at 40+3 at 8am and he was born nearly 7 hours later.
Thanks all x
