We've had a lovely weekend telling friends and family our news, and I've officially told HR this morning. But when / how do I tell other people at work? There are a couple who already know and I've just told the administrator who works closely with me...not sure whether to just leave it to filter out or what? Once I start wearing my 'baby on board' badge people will see I guess? I don't like doing big announcements and even just telling the odd person leaves me all flustered!
What did you do? When did you tell?

I told work pretty early on as my job is quite physical and there were things I didn't want to do/ needed to be careful with. I told my boss and a couple of people I'm close to and asked them to tell everyone else - we're a fairly small team so I wanted everyone to know, but like you I didn't like actually telling people, I just didn't know what to say!

Our team is quite small, but I've only been in it a little while, and the company is fairly big, about 120 people, all based in the same office.
I think I will just tell people as and when I see them. I'm getting a bump now (amazing!) and it will be obvious in a few weeks anyway.
I'm doing my best to enjoy it now!

I told the head after the 12 week scan. Then my two immediate line managers the same day, so i got the 'professional' things out of the way. Then close friends, then rest of my dept within a few days. Rest of staff I left to find out as I didn't really want to do the whole announcement thing. Some didn't realise til after 20 weeks.

Yeah Raincloud I wont be sending out an all staff email or anything! haha! I will just tell people I'm actually friends with and leave it there...

I only work in a small team and my boss was too excited to keep it quiet so everyone knew within about 5 minutes!

Ha! My boss was pretty good, she's kept it to herself for weeks now!
I'm determined to enjoy this and stop stressing out all the time. We have our Nuchal scan next weds! x

I told my boss and secretary/friend. My boss told accounts and his boss, then I didn't tell anyone else. I thought it would filter through but I was made redundant not long after and no-one said anything so assume it didn't spread, which for our office was a huge surprise! I was tucked away in my own office on the ground floor though, being sick constantly in the loo so didn't really come across anyone! X

I'm planning to tell my boss next week as I'll need time off for my MW appointment, and then I'll tell people in my office after the 12 week scan, other than that it'll filter out to the rest I'm sure. Rod, it's lovely to hear you sounding so positive too, you definitely deserve this!

Thanks woowoo! I feel really positive! x

So pleased the scan went well rod! I told my manager at 6 weeks for risk assessment purposes, I told a few work friends after my 12 week scan and then just let it filter out. It got to about 30 weeks before some people noticed!!!

I told my line manager the day i found out as I'd not long started working in the department, and was on a Secondment at the time, so didn't know where i stood in terms of what i was supposed to do - she took that opportunity to tell me that I was being made permanent, so it was a good day! I told the 2 girls i worked with straight after that as i was a bit spaced out with the whole thing. All i did was wait until it was quiet and said i needed to tell them something but they couldn't breath a word. I didn't tell anyone else until i'd been for my 12 week scan.

I told my immediate team early and then everyone else after 14 weeks which was after the festive break. I just took my scan picture and showed it to people as and when I seen them. I'm quite close to a lot of people at work though.
Everyone else just found out later.

I told my head teacher when I was about 7 weeks as I needed time for the booking in appointment and knew I would need time for other appointments too as we had a CVS done. I told staff when we came back after Easter when I was 15 weeks as and when I saw them, but only about 20 people work at my school and it was an inset day so told all teachers and the few tas that were there and let it filter out.
