Hello, We’ve just been having a chat at MFMHQ about how we told our partners we were pregnant, with one staffer sending a text to her husband, simply saying ‘bun in the oven’. We’d love to know how you told your partner the big news when you discovered you were pregnant. Please do come and tell us how you told your other half about your pregnancy, by posting a reply to this thread. We'd love to hear from you!

This pregnancy - (my second) I wanted to do something special othet than throwing a pregnancy test in my hubbys face and asking him how many lines were there! 😂
I found out I was pregnant a week before Father's Day- so I kept it a secret! On Father's Day I told my hubby that my son and I were going to get him his present from another room - so I dressed my boy in a shirt that said 'best ever bro' on it and gave him a pregnancy test to hold- and we surprised him. It took him a while to get it tho haha- a bit slow on a Sunday morning 😂 There's was much swearing and laughing! Was the hardest thing to keep secret for a week but im so glad I managed to do it! :)
The first time I told him over the phone whilst he was walking to a first aid class and then he started shouting I'm gunna be a dad down the street 😂
The second time he was asleep on the sofa and I woke him up by shaking him and waving the test in his face, i was so over the moon that I didn't realise I was technically waving my pee in his face 😂

Second one was my favourite, waved a stick at him while he was half asleep and said "see, told you so!" 😂 I've not even told him in a special way though. I think with the other 2 I just got him to check the test as I couldn't quite believe there was a line.

I did a test..didn’t think much of it I was obsessively taking them everyday...but this time a tiny weeny faint line poped up, so I’m sat on the toilet frantically dipping more test strips in to a pot of wee...and the same faint line pops up, I can’t believe what I’m seeing I line the strips up on the sink and pase around the bathroom for a few mins until I hear his Key turn in the door I bolt down the stairs to meet I’m with a shocked face, grab him and then drag him back up the stairs to the bathroom..point at the test strips and I’m like “loooook!! Look at the line” he looked happy but didn’t beleive the faint line, he took me to get a clear blue test and yea it said I was pregnan! We both just had big smiles and he gave me a hug then sat on his own for a bit, don’t think he could believe it! Or how quickly it all happened I’m 7 months pregnant now with our little guy :)

By waving the stick I'd just pee'd on at him.Very romantic. Both times.
Second pregnancy I actually interrupted him in the toilet to tell him as it was a surprise.

This is our first baby together and I found out when trying to prove my partner that I wasn't pregnant.
We had agreed that we would do our tests together but after one negative test 2 weeks earlier and increasing symptoms my partner was convinced. I didn't want to get my hopes up so when he was at work I did a quick test just so I knew I was right...wrong! 3 tests later all positive.
So I went out and got 2 tests that could tell the dates for us to do together, a little baby grow, and a card and put it all together with the positive results in a wicker box for him so get when he came home from work. He was greeted by this....

Acter miscarrying with or 1st 2 pregnancies my husband and I were talking one day & he said that he just had a feeling that next time it was going to work out ok for us. I then said "third time lucky"... my husband who is American said that they don't say that... they say "third times a charm"... so we compromised and said "third times a lucky charm". A few weeks after that conversation my husband deployed to Afghanistan for 4 months. When he came home, we unknowingly conceived after 3days! Exactly 2 weeks after he came home (11dpo) I took a test & it was positive! So I went to the shop, got a box of lucky charm cereal & hid the test inside. I then took him breakfast in bed. He said thanks but then didn't start pouring his cereal out straight away... he figured something was up as I insisted he had to pour his cereal immediately! 😂.
