Morning all! Good luck to those having scans today, I know there are a couple of us still to go in the Mammoth Scan Week!
I have fast forwarded to 13 weeks after my scan so I guess I'm nearly officially 2nd tri now. Enjoying the fact that people know - it makes no difference to my clothes not fitting but at least I can now wear the ones where my bump shows without worrying! Also at work they keep giving me chocolate and letting me have the last slice of cake :)
Meeting a friend for dinner tonight as my social life has also gone a bit crazy with "eeek we must meet up" responses to the news so that will be fun.
Have a lovely day everyone x

Thanks Tina my scan's at 1.30 today. It must be such a great feeling not to have to hide your bump now Tina. And it's really nice that friends get excited about the news. Enjoy catching up with your friend tonight. Hi to all that follow especially mummy Simpson who also has a scan today xx

Morning Tina, so nice being able to tell people isnt it, good luck for 2nd tri
Hi MrsB, Fingers crossed for positive scan. Let us know
AFM - Taking LO to Playstop Gym this morning - basically things to climb and big crash mats! I have GP appointments this afternoon. Hurrah. Then going out with some friends tonight for meal & errr no wine. I have been so busy thinking about G appointment and stressing about lack of symptoms that I havent gotten a non-drinking excuse yet, its with walking distance of my house - my usual excuse is "im driving" but thats out of the window. Do'h!

Morning all :-)
Tina - Have a lovely evening and enjoy all the baby talk!
MrsB & MS - Good luck for your scans today, looking forward to seeing updates later!
HF - Playstop Gym sounds like great fun! I only had one evening when i needed a drinking excuse and I just said I was going to give the wine a miss as I'd been rushing around all day and had a splitting headache! Hope you come up with something.

TT- are you leaving us for the 2nd Tri thread? :-(
MrsB - Enjoy the scan, i'll be thinking of you at 1.30. Make sure you come back to let us know ho it went.
HF - Enjoy you're day, maybe try telling them you'll be driving somewhere else afterwards? So can't drink.
AFM - Had a fright last night, went to the inlaws and fell down the whole flight of stairs, luckily i landed on my bum/back and bumped all the way down to the bottom. By the time i got to the bottom everyone had ran over to me and i was in floods of tears. I was convinced i had done something to the baby. But after everyone reassuring me i soon felt better. Woke up in the night with some pains and wasn't sure if they were coming from my back or my tummy, bit worrying :-(. Im a bit sore this morning but feeling alot better. Got my scan at 11.50 today so hopefully everything will be fine. I'll be on later at some point to let you all know how it goes.
Good luck to MrsB for your scan :-)

Morning all !
Tina - Yes I have become popular too. Its really nice being able to tell people.
Mrs B - Best of luck for today! Come back and tell us asap xxx
HF - I had a very long running UTI recently, that was my cover :-)
Bump envy - Morning and happy Friday!
I had a giggle telling my 5 year old god daughter last night, she wouldn't believe me at first bless her but is now excited and told me it's a girl!!! Just waiting for Monday now to tell my other boss and then I can tell a few more people at work.
26/04/2013 at 09:18
Tina- everyone is desperate for a piece of you when you announce you are pregnant!
MrsB- Can't wait to see your scan picture! Will be thinking of you.
HF- I was the same at the beginning. The only thing I had was mild cramps which I actually put down to AF for a couple of weeks! I hope the GP gives you the reassurance you need. x
BE- Morning! Hope everything is going smoothly.
MS- Hope your back is feeling better this morning! I am so clumsy normally so have had to be extra careful. I think H actually wants to wrap my in bubble wrap so I don't do anything silly! Good that your scan is today so you can find out everything is fine :)
LP- We get to tell H's daughter next weekend after the scan. H can't wait!! I think she is going to be desperate for a baby sister too.
AFM- Finish work at 2.00pm today whoohoo. But.. I was meant to be taking H to work so I could have the car but woke up late and didn't have time! I'm convinced my alarm has stopped going off on my phone the past few days. I set 2-3 alarms each morning and today H woke up at 7.30, only an hour after we were meant to get up!! Argh!
26/04/2013 at 09:21
p.s is anyone else feeling rather chubby rather than just pregnant!? I can't want to get a proper bump so I don't feel like I've just put on a bit of flab!
26/04/2013 at 09:53
Tina you must be so pleased not having to keep it a secret any more!
HorseFan- have you recovered from the shock of your MOT yet? For BumpEnvy too- Im out tonight for a works leaving do. Works dos are usually really boozy so I wasnt going to go but Ive decided to say that im on a detox to try and loose weight so im not drinking! This helps explain my major reduction in tea runs too!
mummy simpson that must have been such a scare! at least you have your scan today to check everything is ok, im sure it will be fine if you bumped down on your bum! I did this on Xmas day and went back into the lounge and pretended it hadn't happened, even though everyone had heard it!!
Little Pixi it must have been so exciting telling your daughter, its so cute that she is excited!
Samjh yes I feel like ive just piled on a load of weight and Im only at 6 weeks!!
Has anyone else's sense of smell really increased? a friend had melted blue cheese on her lunch the other day and I almost gagged (never been a fan of blue cheese thought) and in a shop the other day, there was a Yankie Candle stand that almost knocked me out with the strong smells!
Ive also been having really vivid and random dreams! this is probably due to the hormones rushing through my body!!
I'll be around this weekend but Monday we are flying to Northern Ireland for a week for my sister in laws wedding. For some reason I can't log on to MD from my phone fo I'll be lurking but won't be able to reply!
Good luck MrsB and mummysimpson with your scans!!!

Mrs Bass- I have random dreams at the best of times but last nights consisted of me feeding cat food to a badger and it then trying to eat a skunk and all this happened around the side of my parents house!? Don't ask..
26/04/2013 at 11:02
Ha Ha, I had one last night where Im pretty sure I was trying to save the world with superheros, it was pretyy action packed. I also had one where we had a new born baby that grew really quickly, it hit 16 in about 24 hours!!

Hello all, sporadic poster me here!
TT, see you soon on the 2nd tri! Enjoy the extra cake! ;)
MrsB, have a lovely scan!
Horsefan, I use being on anti-biotics as an excuse...or I buy non-alcoholic beer and ask for it as a shandy! You could get non-alcoholic wine too. Didn't tell my MIL that though and I think she is disgusted that I downed 3 pints of shandy the other week! LOL
MummyS, hope you are feeling better and looking forward to a scan update :)
LP, enjoy telling everyone! :o)
Sam, my phone sometimes doesn't go off...or I sleep thorough it lol. Also, yes just feeling huuuge! :(
MrsBass, my sense of smell is really sensitive, I cannot stomach 'bathrooomy' smells like cleaner, soap and toiletries. I was the same with B. Also my MIL's house smells like dog and the smell makes me gag, more so than usual :( My dreams are crazy too! lol
AFM...9+1 and feeling dreadful, nauseous all the time but not actually being sick much which is just horrid. With B the sickness started at 11 weeks but it was 'feel sick, be sick, carry on' lol! I am also very tired but I am consoling myself with the fact that this all means baby is sticky and healthy and things are going as they should :o) Booking-in with mw on Tuesday and will then hopefully get the scan date through :o) We have already told a few people in the family but it is getting very hard now not to just tell people like the other mums at school...especially when yesterday they were discussing pregnancy! lol.
I have decided I want a home birth so will be discussing that with the mw on Tuesday, there is now a dedicated team in Plymouth who just deal with home births so am excited that that means I have more chance of it happening. My OH is a paramedic too so he will be on hand to help! lol :D
Have a lovely Friday! xx

Hi Chimp- Hope the nausea passes soon! This is something that I thankfully missed out on. I really don't think I could have coped as my friend told me hers was like having a constant hangover- not fair without the alcohol! What are your reasons for wanting a home birth? Really admire people that decide on this as I know I will never be one of them! I want to do everything as naturally as possible but need to know I'm close to more pain relief if necessary. I'm already looking at the little fruit baby counter and thinking 'it's a peach now and I'm only 13 weeks!'. Im dreading it saying it's a watermelon.. haha
I'm feeling super tired again today. I have been going to sleep at about 8pm most nights this week but last night had a super late one at 11pm! Feeling it today even though I over slept until 7.30am.. feel like a 90 year old!

Baby Pickle Simpson would like to say HELLO! Had to be scanned 3 times, firstly because I didn't drink enough, then again because baby was in wrong position. But we got there in the end. I ended up drinking so much that it was painful pressing on my bladder. But as you can see Pickle has a nice big smile because he/she is happy to meet you all! x
I hope that Mrs B's scan has gone okay :-)
26/04/2013 at 14:01
My best friend had one and it just sounds like the most amazing experience. I am not closed to a hospital birth at all, just want to book in for a home birth. My best friend started at home and her mw (who was one of her friends) said they would labour at home and see how it goes, if they needed to go in they would but they didn't need to. Also means I can keep B here if it is at night (unless I feel it is not appropriate). I don't think I would have for my first birth though, I wasn't as confident last time x
26/04/2013 at 14:02
Aww hello baby Simpson! x
26/04/2013 at 14:07
Hello pickle! Nice to meet you :-)
26/04/2013 at 14:08

Chimp - I had a homebirth with my 1st and will be this time around too
