Morning all! Am I the first around today?
21/06/2013 at 08:05
Morning TT! Copying my post on yesterday's thread over here as I posted so late! I hope you have a restful weekend planned - it's that summer term thing of doing loads of extra PE I think. Hope the pool isn't too hot!
Chimpanzee - yey for another homebirther! I'm really excited about the idea of a homebirth. I just hope my body and baby cooperates and nothing crops up in the next 4 months (eek!) to stop it from happening.
Custard - apparently relaxin reaches its peak production at around 14 weeks and then stays at that sort of level - it starts off being made as soon as the egg is released (as it's made by the corpus luteum) which is why some unfortunate women who suffer badly with SPD get those symptoms starting before they even get a positive pregnancy test! I have always got sore knees and ankles around ovulation and never knew why - now I do! So yes, your sore back at this stage is perfectly legitimate!
2nd anomaly scan today and hubby can come this time, so I'm excited to see his face when he sees the baby - he hasn't seen it since our 11 week scan! I also made him write down all the NCT antenatal class dates, and realised I'm on annual leave for the first (of 6) and on maternity leave for the last 2... makes it seem somehow closer. Baby is kicking a lot more now, it started off just being evening after I'd eaten (maybe feeling a bit squashed when I had a full stomach?!) but now it's happening throughout the day and evening. I've not noticed any movement from the outside yet and haven't tried feeling from the outside - think I have too much flab for it to be at that stage yet!

Morning Tina, sounds like a hectic few days! Hope the weekend is a bit more relaxing.
I've had a rubbish week at work, everything seems to be going wrong and I really can't wait to get on mat leave. 11 weeks to go, seems like forever.
All well with bump, very active and I feel huge. Need to put a picture up in the bump share thread but they are on my phone and I don't seem to be able to post pictures from my phone.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Tina - that sounds like a nightmare day! Hope swimming is much less eventful today.how exciting you got to see it move!
Mrs 50s- hope your appointment goes well? Do you get a pic?
Afm- I seem to have popped out and now looking a bit more rounded! Bye bye flat tummy! My back is still sore not mega, but like I've spent the night sleeping on a sofa or air bed not my lovely bed!
21/06/2013 at 08:16
Missed you there Nogs - hope today speeds up and the weekend is here very quickly. Think of 11 weeks as 55 working days (presuming you work 5 days week!).

TT - oh dear, sounds like you had your hands full yesterday. I guess it's a busy time of year with sports days and things? Take it easy Mrs!
Mrs 50s - good luck for your scan today, will be exciting for your H to see how much baby has grown. Nice that you're feeling baby kick a lot more :)
Noggin - sorry you've had such a rubbish week, have you got much to look forward to at the weekend to keep you going today? I've got about 10 weeks left til materntiy leave kicks in and I've done what Custard suggested and calculated the amount of working days - it's 39! Worth doing if you want to be on a countdown!
Custard - I saw your bump on the thread, it's lovely and has really popped out! Sorry your back is still sore x
AFM - it's so stuffy and close here :( As I was trying to blow dry my hair straight this morning it kept bouncing back up in to horrible frizzy curls! It's horrible, I feel so hot and sweaty. I know the entire UK is praying for a good summer but I'd like it to cool down now a little bit please! Got a very busy little baby at the moment, lots of really big kicks. H and I were feeling my tummy last night and we could sort of make out which way round the baby was, one side of my bump was all hard like there was a little head poking out!

TT- Your day yesterday sounds awful! Made me very thankful that I have a dull office job. I couldn't handle naughty children at the minute, making the most of being (mostly) child free before baby comes! haha
Mrs50s- Good luck for scan day! So lovely that H can go and see baby too :) Let us know how you get on later.
Noggin- Hope today is better and next week is a new week! I'm hoping the next 11 weeks are easy for you. I still have about 15/16 weeks until ML and it feels like forever. Would love to finish now!
Custard- I saw your photo on the bump thread- you have definitely popped! Lovely looking bump.
Popcorn- My hair is being a bit frizzy too. I spent ages straightening it this morning, sectioning it all off and doing it properly and I've got to work and looks like I shouldn't have bothered! So lovely that you could imagine how baby way lying.
AFM- Feeling grumpy today. Finish at 2pm so only 5 hours to go and counting!

Hi ladies, I have been AWOL for 2 days as I have been in Newcastle and Hexham with work. Wed was a meeting and Thursday the team did Go Ape! while I egged them on from the ground. Was lovely as it was really cool in the woods! Glad to be home though, got alot to catch up on today
Tina - This is why they should allow the cane back........... or at least give you all big nets!
Noggin - Forget about work, tis nearly the weekend and you sound like you need a break :-)
Mrs 50s - Hope your scan goes well x
Mrs Custard - I am doing pregnancy yoga which has really helped my back, I hardly have any aching at all now.
Popcorn - I am feeling your pain, I don't mind a bit of sunshine but it is just so muggy!

Tina that sounds like a stressful day but at least you were reqwarded with seeing your bump move!! How exciting!
Mrs 50's, how exciting abou the scan! wh ttime is it?
morning Noggin- I keep thinking that Ive got a bit of a bump and i should post a pic but then i see everyone elses and think mine is probably still just flubber! think I'll wait a bit longer!
Custard, hopeully that means my 'popping out' isnt far behing!
Popcorn- we have really muggy weather here too, it isnt plesant! Must be amazing to be able to feel the baby!!
Sam are you doing anything exciting with your afternoon?
LP glad you still enjoyed Go Ape, i would have been itching to get up there!!
AFM- fell asleep on the sofa while watching a film again! took me a while to get to sleep when i managed to get to bed! Its my works leaving do tonight so im looking forward to that and being entertained by everyone else getting tipsy!
My 'Bump' seems to be a bit more flubbery the last couple of days. it is quite firm above the belly button which is weird as i though it would be more bumpy below the belly button! I think i basicaly have a monster munch bump!

TT- it's amazing seeing the bump move isn't it. Enjoy swimming
Mrs50s- hope scan goes well
Nogs- at least it's almost the weekend. I hope next week is a bit better
Custard- hope your back eases up
PC- I know what you mean about the weather. It's warm and stuffy, but really grey here so I never know what to wear
Sam- not long until 2pm, hope your day gets better
LP- sounds like a busy few days
MrsBass- enjoy tonight. I too have a monster munch bump. I had a major craving for the first couple of months for pickled onion flavour and was eating at least 4 packs a day
AFM- been for a scan this morning to check baby's heart ( there is a history of VSD's in H family). All seemed well and the sonographer couldn't have been nicer. We were in there ages , she had a really good look at the heart, then let us have a good luck at the baby. She also asked if we knew the sex and we said a girl so she had another look at her bits for us to confirm it again which was good. Then while she sat and wrote up my notes a trainee person had a good look at everything so we got to see her for ages wriggling about. They also showed us her face in 4d which was amazing ( although she did look a bit like plasticine!) then she gave us 3 pics free when we were leaving, one of which was the 4d one.
I think getting to see her for so long at the scan, and watching her heart close up pumping away is helping it sunk in a little bit that we are actually having a baby, as at the moment it still seems a big surreal .
Hope we all have a lovely weekend

TT, hopefully you have a more relaxing weekend planned! Rest! :o)
Mrs 50s, yes, very excited for a homebirth! I am getting lots of kicks inside but felt nothing outside yet either, too much flab on me for that!
Noggin, hope work gets easier :(
Custard, you poor thing with a bad back :o( it is really horrid x
Popcorn, I am with you on the weather. It is so close here today but rainy so have to wear a jacket. I hate the summer anyway! I am actually looking forward to being able to have a bump this year and not worrying what I look like in summer clothes. Will wear it proud! lol
sam, hugs for feeling grumpy x
LP, the away day sounds like fun, even if you were stuck on the ground!
Mrs Bass, I did the same last night, fell asleep watching tv. OH came home at midnight from work and then I couldn't sleep for ages! :/ Enjoy your leaving do!
Jellytot, good news on the scan! Glad they could confirm the sex again :o)
AFM, nothign to report. Bump has been achey the last day or two but I think that is part stretching and part slight water infection, nice! Also had to pick up some treatment for thrush so not a happy bunny right now! Still, could be worse. Bump is getting bigger and I am now desperate to know the sex so I can start picking up a few bits of colour.
Have a good day everyone.

4 packs, that's impressive!
sounds like you had a great experience at the scan!!! I cant wait for my next one!!
Custard- Ive just had a look at the bump thread and i have serious bump envy!! Mine looks nothing like yours!
21/06/2013 at 14:58
Sam - I actually re-straightened my hair on my lunch break today as I'm able to get home from work. I need to sort out my priorities! You'll have finished work by now, hope you're enjoying a lazy afternoon.
LP - Go Ape sounds cool, I would love to do that, shame you had to cheerlead instead of getting stuck in but good that you were able to stand in a cool spot!
Mrs Bass - enjoy your work do tonight, hopefully people are tipsy enough to entertain you! I'm sure your bump will pop out soon enough :)
JT - sounds like you had an amazing scan. Our 12 week one was really detailed because it was a trainee doing it with her supervisor so they used it like a training session, it's great when you can spend so much time just gazing at the screen. It's lovely that you've felt more bonded with your baby as a result as well, I'm worrying slightly that the baby still feels like something that is just making my stomach move at the moment, I don't think the fact that it's a baby has really sunk in!
Chimp - oh dear sounds like you're suffering a little bit with the water infection and thrush :( hope you recover soon. When is your scan?
I can't believe that I wrote a whole 'AFM' bit this morning about my hair when what I should have said is "it's my 25 week midwife" appointment today - which would have been slightly more relevant on a Baby Talk forum than the state of my barnet! It all went well and I was told off for over-doing it at the weekend which could have caused my bleed on Sunday. I've also been told no rumpy-pumpy with H until they've confirmed that my placenta has moved up - oops! Not really a problem for me but gonna have to break it gently to H...!
