Congratulations again to Monnie! I've not checked the due dates thread in a while, but does that make SG next In the queue? I'm still naively hoping I'll go early. There's no reason for me to think I will, no family history, etc. I just don't want to be pregnant forever!
I've got got a midwife appointment this afternoon. Technically it's my 34 wk appt because they just kept getting pushed back, but I wonder if they'll treat it as my 36 wk appt? That's when they're supposed to discuss birth plan, etc, and I filled out the nhs choices one a couple days ago in preparation. Otherwise we wont be discussing it until I'm term. Nothing else to report here, just another dreary day in the southeast. I miss the sun.

Morning Wispa, I've got midwife too at 12. I find the appts a bit useless lately. When I moved in December I registered at a children's centre as it was literally next door to work and there was a 4 week wait for an appt with the midwife at my doctors surgery but I've seen a different midwife every single time I've gone and none of them seem particularly interested. With 5 weeks to go I don't plan on moving though.
I too am hoping I go early. My sisters baby (due 7th April, born 18th) was 8lb 6oz and the result of that rubber suction cup (can't spell it) and an episiotomy. Ouch.
Congratulations again Monnie! I am very very jealous you've met your baby already but I know you've had a really rough time with everything.

WW, my SIL was due 4th June a few years ago with my nephew and he was born 21st of May, so I know as soon as that day rolls around I'm just going to feel done with it all!
oh, and I've seen the same midwife all but one time and she still doesn't seem very interested!

Hope your appointment with the midwife goes well. Sorry it's another dreary day - we must be due some sunshine soon surely?!
AFM - nothing much to report. Work is busy but I'm counting down the days until I'm on leave. I've completed a to-do list for before baby arrives and it's not too long thankfully! Just browsing Pinterest for ideas for my bump photos on Monday. I've no idea what to wear!
02/05/2014 at 09:26
Sorry I missed you WW - it must be really annoying not seeing the same midwife. I'm grateful to have gotten to know mine and only saw a different one at my 28-week appointment as my regular one was on holiday.
Congratulations to Monnie!

Wispa - counter gave me the idea for starting to try home remedies from week 37, I've told H it'll be curries and walks non stop, he thinks his idea of just constant sex is more likely to work but he clearly doesn't realise that at 35 weeks it's impossible so imagine what 37 will be like lol i said if we get to due date he might get lucky but I wouldn't hold his breath. My sister tried various things and nothing worked, she didn't try sex though as too uncomfortable. She hooked herself up to her breast pump for 5 mins and was in labour within the hour so she's recommended that for my due date if baby not yet here.
Ixia - I don't even have a to do list anymore. I just want to meet her now, I'm fed up of waiting and these last few weeks are dragging too much. I also think my niece being 2 weeks old makes me that much more impatient haha. How long until you go on mat leave?
02/05/2014 at 09:49
Wispa I hope the mw talks through your birth plan, exciting stuff!
WW I hope your appt goes well too.
Ixia how many days have you got left now? I need to write a to do list also, although at the moment I fear mine will be quite long!
Well I am so glad that is't Friday and long weekend to boot. This is the end of my last 5 day week prior to mat leave, from here in I either work 4 days or 3 day weeks. Yippeee!

Sorry not been around much, to be honest I generally haven't been online much at all recently. No reason - just finding I want to be out and about doing things and can't keep still!
Wispa - Hopefully they cover your birth plan today! Gosh, that makes it all feel very real.
Wishful - Hello! Can totally relate with your experience. I've had a different person each time too and I literally go in and get thrown out again. Last time I had to say 'what about this' and 'what about that'.
Ixia - How long do you have left? A to do list, very organised, what sort of things do you need to do?
Imp - Wow, that sounds amazing! Are you having to train any cover or anything?
AFM - Not much to report. Booked a 4D scan for 18th May this morning! Toyed about it for ages but I think it will be nice, especially for H as think its still hard for him to believe that we are going to have a gorgeous little baba! :) I'm getting quite impatient, happy for baby to stay put as needs to grow but cannot wait to meet and hold them. Not knowing the sex means its hard to spend my time shopping for it etc as I don't really have anything left to get now! Going to get H to put the cotbed up this weekend. We did the draws last weekend and I've been filling those which has been nice!
02/05/2014 at 10:22
Pep it's good to see you on here!
No training, they're just sharing my workload out between existing members of the team I think. Yay for a scan, I am jealous of you seeing baby again.
You'll have to flash us once the cotbed is up.
02/05/2014 at 10:27
Imp - Will do. We haven't really done anything decor wise though, we are waiting until baby is here! Have you decided not to have a 4D scan? I always thought they were a bit weird, I think with your own its a bit different though. I'm personally not doing it because I want to see what it looks like or anything, I just want to see them again and for H to too, it just turned out that the only scan you book this far along is 4D (so I found in my area anyway!).
02/05/2014 at 10:34
I don't think we'll have another scan, no. I don't much like the 4D ones, although I would think you're right and that your own will be different!
02/05/2014 at 12:17
Pep, Imp & WW - my last day is 18th May then I'm on annual leave before mat leave starts. Work still don't have my replacement but that's their problem, not mine!
My to-do list is mainly decorating/repairs to do around the house and garden that we've been putting off for ages, as well as baby-related things. Looking at it again, and having added to it again earlier, there's a fair bit to do but nothing will take too long and I'm roping in my parents to help with some of it.
Pep - how lovely to be having a 4D scan and to be getting getting the cotbed up and drawers filled :)
02/05/2014 at 13:26
Ixia - How exciting! Not long to go! How are you going to spend your time before baba arrives? Mostly doing your to do list, or more fun things? :)
02/05/2014 at 15:45
Ixia, bump photos Monday, how exciting! I'm sure you'll come up with a great look for them. I think we are due a cold but sunny long weekend around here, so I'll have to be happy with that.
WW, I'm totally starting baby out methods at 37 weeks. I have no idea if there's anything in the world that could actually make baby come out, but that's fine.
Pep, we definitely need photos of the cotbed when it's ready! I wish I cld have another scan, but we decided against a 3D one and that's the only way we'd get to see her again. It'll be amazing for you guys, I am just a little bit jealous :)
AFM, it was a new midwife! And I really really liked her! Not dismissive like my normal MW usually is. And I'm over 35 weeks, damnit. I wish I'd have her the whole way through. She said she wasn't supposed to go through birth plans before 36 weeks, but she listened to me when I talked a couple things through and she reassured me that it all sounded fine. She offered to see me next Friday if I wanted to see her at 36 weeks, but I thought that might be overkill, so I'm back in two weeks again. She did say "ooh, you'll be term then, could have baby any time, but let's make sure we see you at least once more and we can talk about sweeps and induction if you go over."
02/05/2014 at 19:31
Wispa, yay for the new midwife being nice, what a shame you've not had her the whole way through. Eep to me being first in the queue, I'm ready not to be pregnant, but I'm not ready to have a baby yet. 39 weeks would be good...
WW, what's your due date again? You don't have a ticker, and I have the memory of a goldfish! Good call on the breast pump front, has to be easier than boffing at this stage in pregnancy! Poor H hasn't had any action in weeks, though that's at least in part because I have constant thrush (sorry for the tmi) so ironically we have to use condoms for sex during pregnancy or he gets it too.
Ix, bump pics, how exciting. Are you having them done professionally? I'd take a selection of stuff that shows off the bump. I had friends who are good amateur photographers do a shoot for me both times, but this pregnancy I feel so much like a whale I'm just not liking any pics of me, which is a shame.
Imp, yay for yor last full week, I hope everything feels a bit easier when you're on reduced days.
Pep, nice to see you! Hope your scan goes well, I had a little bit of 4d with a gender scan, but I think at 16 weeks it's too early and the baby looked very strange, by yor stage they should look far more like a baby! Am very jealous of you having drawers to fill, I'm soooo unprepared!
Afm, nothing exciting to report babywise, Attila is having a good wriggle every now and again and sticking her bum in my ribs. I've developed a hugely itchy patch on my bump so went to see the doc about it this morning as its driving me insane, and she's given me some cream, hopefully it'll help. There are so many niggles in pregnancy, it hurts to walk, I can't sleep, I've horrific cankles, fat fingers, heartburn etc, but somehow the itchy patch has been the most annoying of all! This afternoon was swimming with J, who's doing much better than yesterday. It's the penultimate session of the term, obviously I'm not continuing as you can't take a teeny newborn and a toddler in at once, and I must admit that though J loves it I'm looking forward to finishing as it just feels like hard work at this stage.
Hope everyone has exciting bank holiday plans, I think the weather is meant to be ok so that should be good.
