Sorry for not updating sooner, it's been a bit hectic!!
Originally it was thought that I had obstretic cholestasis, but after more tests it turns out that I actually have gallstones, which I never knew I had. It would appear that one of these little devils has tried to move and become lodged somewhere undesirable, making my liver function go horribly wrong. I was discharged from hospital Tuesday afternoon, however have wound up back in again by Wednesday evening with yet more pain, so am assuming that the stone is on the move again. All monitoring on the baby is positive so far however they want to induce me by 38 weeks. I dont know if this second bout will bring that induction forward, I've had my steroid injections just in case. Grateful for vibes that stones stay put, and baby isn't affected by any of the goings on....and if anyone has any advice in regards to diet that would be handy. I terrified to eat anything in case it sets off an attack so have resigned myself to chicken rice and salad until the baby arrives!

You poor thing, I hope they stay put and can be easily sorted once baby is here.

No experience but sending a gentle hug and stay put gallstones vibes so they don't get more uncomfy. How many weeks are you now?

Sending some vibes your way! My sister had gallstones last year and I could see how much pain she was in! Take care of yourself and don't over do it! I'm not sure what to reccommend re diet though. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids!

Ouch, that sounds painful. Glad they have found out what the problem is though and hope baby continues to be unaffected x

I had gallstones when I had my little one but wasnt discovered as the cause of my pain until I presented with an obstruction like you when she was three weeks old. I had my gallbladder out when she was 4 months old finally and has been the best thing! With regards to diet anything that contained fat triggered my pain off but it's best you keep a food diary to see what your triggers are. My husband recently had his gallbladder out and his triggers were fried foods and crisps! Anything else you'd like to know I'm happy to help. for me it really was the most horrific pain I've experienced x

Gosh, poor you x I know nothing about gallstones but lots of vibes it stays put and baby continues to thrive xx
Also like rkb said do drink plenty, that made me feel less ill on my pain free days x

Poor you, no advice I am afraid except to keep rehydrated. Glad that they have at least found the problem and hopefully they can continue to moniter you so that baby remains unaffected x

Oh blimey Munchkin! Ton of vibes that the stones don't move - how do you get rid of them? Meds to reduce them and they pass or an op?
16/05/2013 at 09:59
An op, which they can't do until baby is out xxx it could e that without the hormones and pressure of the baby they don't bother me once he is here, but my consultant hasn't really discussed what happens past birth stage.
I've had more tests this morning and depending on the results, I could be induced this week or next xx

Ouch, poor you. Lots of vibes that they behave themselves and baby is okay x

I had gallstones which they discovered when I was pregnant last year. Had my gallbladder removed when O was about 3 months old. Triggers for me seemed to be red meat, I've heard for others it can be dairy products, so it may be worth keeping a food diary to recognise what to avoid. It's the worst pain I've ever had so you have my sympathy!
