What do you associate it with?
I really like it but was vetoed by H when i was pregnant with P. He thinks it's chavvy, although i pointed out that Zara Phillips is hardly chavvy!!
Is it one of those names you have to be chavvy or really posh to pull off?
I still like it but i think i'll struggle to get H to consider it for #2 when the time comes.
Just an afternoon pondering really!

I'm not a fan if I'm honest, I just think Zara Phillips. But who am I to comment? I dont think its chavvy though, more posh!

I don't like it as there's alot of girls in town called it (and quite chavvy they are too)
Personally I like the name but it really depends on how it sounds alongside your surname. I always to the 'birthday card test' too, write your first name, your husbands, your daughters and then the potential new name. Do they look 'right' together?
I think of Zara Phillips too. And my best friend in Primary School whose name was Sara but my dad always insisted on calling her Zara! I don't think it's chavvy either.

It definitely divides opinion. I'm not one to worry if other people don't like it as such, it would bother me if people think of it a certain way though i think ie chavvy or too posh!
As i've got horses too H said people would think i was calling the baby after Zara Phillips.
It does go with our surname i think......and i think a Poppy could have a sibling called Zara.
I'm sure i'll never persuade H anyway but thought i'd see what the general opinion was!

I like it.

I think of Zara Phillips, or the shop.
I'd put it in the chavvy pile.
Chavvy and somehow also makes me think Zara Phillips and also the clothes shop. Not for me!
22/05/2013 at 15:25
I'd forgotten about the clothes shop!

I quite like it, but think it's the clothes shop that makes it a bit chavvy. My main reason for discounting it is that it's too similar sounding to my name.

I have only ever met two. A friend's sister and the actress who played a Masood in Eastenders, she was in my drama club. Not chavvy imo. I don't really think anything when I hear it. Not mabyt about which would be a plus for me
Ah I didn't even think of the shop as I've never bought/owned anything from Zara. Now it's been mentioned it's all I can think of

As it's you I'd also think Zara Phillips and also because I'm horsey too that's my first instinct but irl the only Zaras I've met have been chavvy

We both like it, I would never have thought of it as chavvy and know several ex-public school girls called Zara. We have ruled it out for this one as I think Zoe and Zara doesn't really work.

Interesting. Definitely on of those names that people think different things about.

I like it personally and I don't think it's chavvy at all. I think it's a pretty name. It would be top of my list except that I have a niece called Sarah and its deemed to be 'too close'.

I like it :-)
22/05/2013 at 15:59
I don't think it's posh or chavvy...just normal.

It's ok,although to me its a made up name spelling for Sara/Sarah also I don't think it goes with poppy, poppy reminds me of a very pretty girls name, Zara is just ok iyswim
