It's a big worry of mine as my gbs wasn't picked up and my son was very ill, it was passed to him which then caused pneumonia. I don't know for sure what my treatment plan is, if any, but I will at least be tested for it this time. Although the midwife was suggesting if it was negative then that's that. Now with gbs you can be Negative one day and positive the next so I want the antibiotics regardless. I won't know more until the appt in 4 weeks with the consultant though.
Did they give you antibiotics in labour?

I was told to ring them if my waters went so when they did, I had to go in and stay put until he arrived. They gave me antibiotics by IV and also the stuff to help speed up labour. They didn't seem to want to hang about and let me carry on naturally. Part of me wishes they'd do the same this time just to be on the safe side,

I didnt but my sisters did, with their second they were both put on antibiotic drips once they were in labour.

I had it first time. Didn't know it but had a v high temp during labour and ended up having a cs. They said when I was in the recovery room that they thought it was that so put baby and me on anti biotics while waiting test results. Confirmed it was that the next day so had to stay in for a week while baby had anti biotics.
With second pregnancy I wasn't treated any differently, didn't have any extra tests or anything. Had a cs again and wasn't any mention of testing for it when baby was born.

Sorry for only just coming back to this. I had a MW appoinment yesterday but it wasn't with my usual MW so I thought I'd wait to ask her when to she gets back from holiday. Thanks for the replies, I'll report back when I've spoken to her.

Thanks for that CO. Having just had a quick read it does look as if they'll work on the basis that GBS isn't present this time around.
