I am 19+4 now and last few days I have been experiencing hip pain at night when lying on my side, its also starting to ache during the day when walking and sitting down..getting in and out of the car is a struggle...I had pain in my bottom when walking around tesco yesterday.
Before this I have had a constant pain In my lower abdo for weeks.
Does this sound fimiliar? When did yours start? Is it normal? I dont remember this in my previous pregnancy.

Yep I have had hip pain for a long while, can't remember when it started but it was before 20 weeks I think. I found putting a duvet under my sheet for extra padding at night helped, also putting a pillow between my legs (to keep your legs/hips all alligned) from knee/thigh to feet, and generally trying not to move out of allignment I.e. Not opening legs too wide or crossing legs lol. It's mainly during the night and first thing it hurts me, and I think it's due to the extra weight they are carrying on a night. I try to turn over every time I get up to the loo to even things out and give one side a break. That's several times a night for me! It won't get rid of the pain but might ease it a bit.
I started having a pregnancy massage once a week from about 32/33 weeks and it helped loads. The hip pain pretty much disappeared. She does concentrate on my hips and lower back which is why. But the last week or so the pain is back so it was a short-lived break from the pain lol. I think it's one of those things but if you are concerned speak to your midwife she may refer you to physio who will be able to give you more tips. My physio was useless and mainly stressed about doing your pelvic floor exercises to ease pelvic pain.

Thanks already doing the pillow thing at night which helps loads. I might mention it at my next midwife appointment if its not any better. Might look into massage too that sounds good lol!

I got spd at 29 weeks the last time and it started this time at 15 weeks. I can only lie on my right hand side and need a pillow between my legs. I also can't cross my legs for long during the day. To get in and out the car if you sit on a plastic bag it apparently helps as you can swivel around without stretching one leg too far. X

Will deff get a bag for the car that sounds amazing! My left hip seems more sore I stood on one foot earlier to see which was worse and def left

I got SPD at 16 weeks last time, and the same again with this pregnancy. I was referred to the maternity therapist for reflexology and it really helps! I'm actually surprised by the difference that it makes. I would definitely recommend it.

We did the duvet under the sheet and omg it was amazing! I slept until 10:30! I haven't done that in a long time!
