I am sooooo tired. I woke at 4am for a wee, couldn't get back to sleep. Spent ages wondering about random things including why hasn't LO woken (she rarely sleeps thru!), panicing about this pregnancy a bit (possibly because midwife called yesterday afternoon & scheduled my initial booking in appointment) so it seems more 'real' again now. Then H woke up and wanted 5am nookie. Then I must have drifted off to sleep at somepoint post nookie and his stupid alarm woke me at 6am. Grrr. Then I was hoping to nod off again when at 6:15am there was shuffling on the monitor and into my bedroom comes my toddler. Do'h!!
Still haven't got car back. Hopefully should have by end of today.

What a morning you've had HF! You must be exhausted?! When is your first booking appt?
Well, I stupidly did a CBD last night, even though I did an ic in the morning. . Cue panic when it didn't go to 3+, so I've had a sleepless night waiting to do it with fmu, which I did and it went straight to 3+. Please tell me to stop poas, I'm going to turn myself into a crazy woman (as if I'm not already!!!)

HF - sounds like you've had a tiring morning already, how dare H want nookie at 5am! Lol
Imp - Stop PAOS! There you go. I can understand you doing it though.
AFM - Not up to much today, got a friend coming round tonight to watch a horror film, i haven't watched a horror film for years because i always end up regretting it :-s

Hi all, on my phone so just a quick one. I havent poas since I got my bfp, should I have done?! Early scan this afternoon. Bit nervous, hoping to see a bean in there.
02/05/2013 at 08:39
Hf that sounds like far too much activity already!!!
Imp i have 2 tests just calling my name, i know how you feel though, but it could become an expensive habit!!
Afm went to the gp yesterday and got told to go back in 3 weeks. so that was a waste of time!! Just feeling very tired and actually started to feel quite queasy yesterday...
02/05/2013 at 09:16
Oi, you lot! Stop POAS! It's not helping any of you.
02/05/2013 at 09:22
Morning ladies :-)
HF - No wonder you are feeling tired! Hope you get your car back today.
Imp - I had a pack of 10 tests and I used them all in the first couple of weeks! If I had them in the house I'd probably still use them!
MS - I love a good horror film, what are you watching?
Mermaid - Good luck, let us know how you get on x
Jem - That's annoying! My first planned appointment was with the midwife, they said I only needed to see my GP if I particularly wanted to.
Well, scan day for me! I'm so excited to see little bubba!
02/05/2013 at 09:35
Wow that was a busy morning HF! I hope you get your car back today. And that you get a chance to catch up on some sleep!
Imp - I would tell you to put the sticks down but that would be a bit of a 'pot and kettle' situation! Lol. Glad it's gone over to 3+ now. You must be literally one day behind me.
MS - hope you don't get too scared! ;-)
Mermaid - nope don't POAS! Good luck for you scan.
Jem179 - how far along are you? I can't see my doctor again, let alone a midwife, until after I have my early scan, which isn't for another week, so I feel your frustration.
LP - I haven't POAS today.... can't make any promises for the rest of the week.... ;-)
BE - yay for scan day! Good luck, enjoy seeing the bubba! Is your H able to go with you?
I saw my nieces last night (both aged under 3) and they were climbing all over me, like they always do, but when I was in the car on the way home I had a dull ache on my right hand sise (sort of in the ovary area) and this morning I had a little bit of bloody discharge again (sorry, TMI!) but it's still brown and light. I think it's my body's way of reminding me that I need to take it easy. Even more anxious to see a healthily-growing little bean next week now. I'm going to try to sort out the details of the contract with my new job today so that I can resign tomorrow/ early next week. Very scary, but it's what's best for my future family, so I'm going to have to take that leap and cross my fingers that everything works out ok....
02/05/2013 at 09:40
Hi Penny :-) yes H is coming with me, he's taken the day off so we're having a lazy morning! Make sure you take it easy, when I had my bleeding, we'd been moving furniture at work! I was being very careful but nobody knew so it was difficult. I haven't done anything like that since as it was enough to scare me!

Just a quick hi all. Haven't jumped ship completely and still have a mooch here.
BE- Just wanted to say good luck for today! I will be looking out for scan photos later :)
Oh and will everyone stop poas! haha! I actually surprised myself and after the initial 2 I did I haven't done any more! (I was annoyed at how much money I had spent on the bloody tests up until getting BFP so certainly wasn't going to spend any more money on them!)

Hi all. I'm a million miles from being ready to post here, I just wanted to say to Penny, firstly congrat's on the job! I saw your post from y'day, I'm sure you've already thought of this, but incase not, have you checked your maternity entitlement at the new job? No idea what you do, but at my work, you need to have a certain amount of week continuous employment before mat leave to qualify for the better leave and if not I think you get less and you don't get SMP you get MA. I don't actually know what the difference is, but basically I know if I hadn't been here for the qualifying period, I wouldn't get the 'enhanced' mat leave package, it's less.
BE good luck for your scan.
I'm away to phone EPU....again!

Ah BumpEnvy that's nice that your H is coming with you. Bet you can't wait! I will take it easy now, with my nieces. I've told my H that if they want to do rough play he'll need to take over and he's happy to do that. I have to lift some boxes at work occassionally but I've told a close work friend so that she can do these for me now instead. I'm definitely going to be very cautious now.
02/05/2013 at 10:06
Hiya Sam, hope you're ok
misdeedee - thanks! As I won't have worked there for the qualifying period, I'll only get MA, but I've looked into it and it's actually the same amount as SMP after the first 6 weeks, so all that I will miss out on is those first 6 weeks at full pay. I wouldn't expect to be paid proper maternity pay - I'll only be there a few months before I go off again. Luckily my H is relatively well paid so we'll get by. To be honest I could quit work and just get MA and still be in the same boat financially! I don't get any enhanced maternity pay in my current role so it doesn;t give me much incentive to stay. Also I've seen your thread this morning and I have my fingers crossed - let us know how it goes with the EPU...

MS- Enjoy your horror movie. I can't watch them as i am a massive wimp!
Mermaid- good luck with your scan, let us know how you get on!
Jem- I went to the docs and was told I don't need to see them and I could refer myself, so a big fat waste of time!
LP- I cannot promise, but I'll try!
BE- Enjoy your scan, make sure you come back with a picture for us all!
Penny- Take it easy lady, look after yourself and that little bean. How exctining to not have long till you see the little bean!
Sam- again, I'll try!
Missdeedee- I really hope you hear back from them soon!
02/05/2013 at 10:50
HF sounds like you have had a very busy morning. I bet you can't wait to get the car back.
IMO I totally sympathise I am exactly the same, step away from the poas save your money!
MummyS I would rather you than me, I would hide behind the sofa.
Mermaid I hope your scan goes ok, let us know how you get on.
Jem I hope you feel less queasy soon. I know what you mean about the doctors I felt like it was a waste of time, they could just do that over the phone.
LP hello I hope you are doing ok.
Bumpenvy so excited for your scan pic, hope it goes ok.
Sam hello I know what you are saying about the cost, I spent £60 on tests I am crazy!
Missdeedee hello, I hope EPU get back to you.
Penny congratulations on the new job, and no heavy lifting.
Afm I am feeling better after yesterday's a&e trip the antibiotics are kicking in. It was so much relief knowing everything was ok and seeing our little one. I had to buy my first maternity bra today as I am spilling out of all my bras.
02/05/2013 at 11:14
Viv- Glad you are feeling better. I was getting myself in such a tiz in the first few weeks. Feeling much more relaxed the past week though so it goes get easier I promise! I know what you mean about bras, I am going to have to bite the bullet soon! People at work also noticed my little bump yesterday which was nice! I've got a dress on today which shows it off a bit too :)
02/05/2013 at 11:19
