well yesterday I had the consultant who was still happy with my blood sugars and said still no need for insulin so I'm happy, but they did say I'm definitely going in at 38 weeks. So worked it all out yesterday and it means ill leave work April 25th which is scary as I still have to use a weeks annual leave before then!
also sorry for those of you in facebook who have seen it! but hubby built my chair yesterday and I'm so over the moon about it!!
I cant wait to use it!
hope you are all well! Xxx

Monnie, fab news about the blood sugars and not needing insulin. Your chair looks very similar to mine if not the same, it got lots of use- still does actually just not for feeding any more.
AFM, had a good day yesterday at work, the back is definitely feeling better than it was even if its still sore, so that's really good. Today is scan day, I'm excited to see Attila again, hope she's behaving and they get all their measurements. After the scan I have to see a consultant to discuss the birth as I had a retained placenta last time, not sure what they're going to say. I don't want a home birth, which I know would be out, but hopefully can have a water birth as I really wanted one with J and didn't get it that time. We shall see I guess, you have to be flexible when planning a birth as there are so many unknowns. Hi to all that follow as I may not get on till this evening again.

Morning all :)
Monnie - superb news about your insulin, but you're so pleased and I love love love the chair. I haven't bought anything yet, too scared but I think I'll start now :)
SG - good to hear about your back and fingers crossed for your scan, I look forward to seeing your update later :)
My back/hip is sore and been that way for over a week, oh well and had a little brown spotting only when I wipe, so that's good. Still trying to think of boys names :)
Hi to all who follow :)

Mon your nursery is looking lovely. I love the chair, I think I'll get one of those. Great news about the insulin, you must be very happy about that.
SG- good luck for the scan- I hope Atila behaves herself for you. Will look forward to heating about it later.
Leelee- glad your back is better. Is it just pregnancy related? Are you sleeping ok?
AFM- I'm just ticking days off still until my next scan. Feels a life time away but it's only 12 days now which will hopefully be here in no time. Not much else to report really, been swimming a couple of times this week and I'm trying to eat better now I'm through the nausea of 1st tri. So far it's going ok. Think I've put about 3 pounds on so far.

SG- in normal circumstances is the placenta delivered in the water? becasue you have time between birth of baby and birth of placenta to leave the water dont you ?
LeeLee- have you mentioned your pain to the midwife?
Imp- well done on the weight gain, 3lbs is fab, iv gained 1 stone now :-(
AR- i did see your post yesterday thank you, i cant believe your off to the 3rd now !
just a quick question, it was confirmed by the consultant yesterday that i will be a 38weeker, but all my paperwork still says the 26th may for EDD, will that be adjusted ? im just thinking about work and taking annual leave etc. if work still have my EDD down as 26/5 then i will need to finish work a month before my EDD, but only use 2 weeks of the annual leave? does that make sense?

Imp- 12 days will fly by! You are so good with the swimming, I should take note!
AR- ah third Tri! I will be joining you Saturday! Have a nice day today.

imp - good to hear the nausea has gone and well done on the 3lbs :)
AR - aw have fun in 3rd tri, all the best, hopefully some of us will be joining you soon at least you have Counter in there hehe :)
monnie - no, I haven't mentioned it yet but did mention the numbness and spider crawling feeling to the consultant last week and she said it's all just normal. I'm going to add on to my maternity leave the 4wks holiday this year I haven't used yet, I hope you get yours sorted :) I'm supposed to be induced at 39wks if I agree
Bertie - happy birthday matey, sounds like you've had a great start already. How was the meal, what did you have (I'm nosy haha) ;-) Have a lovely day today celebrating and shopping!

Happy birthday Bertie! Sounds like a nice meal last night. Enjoy your day today.
AR good luck on 3rd tri!

Bertie- happy birthday. they have these chairs in the asda baby event for 130 at the moment :-)
Lee Lee- can i be nosy? why are you going in at 39 weeks?
16/01/2014 at 09:32
Monnie - be nosy all you want haha! It's because of my high BMI combined with my age, when he arrives I'll be 41 :) The consultant was concerned the placenta may not support the baby right at the end but she said its still a risk in the 1000s but she said its totally my decision, I guess that means I won't go overdue, which is good as I wouldn't want that anyway.

LeeLee, well its good to know they are looking after you ,.i have a high BMI and will more than likely have gestational diabetes by the end so im being monitored heavily !
16/01/2014 at 13:47
Monnie - thanks :) I have the GTT test in March :( and on daily aspirin.

Evening to anyone who's around.
LeeLee, sorry you're sore, it's horrid being in pain. Have fun thinking of boys names!
Imp, hopefully the 12 days will fly by. Well done for getting into the swimming, I really need to do more as it's so good for you (and I'm not normally a completely lazy biffer) but am struggling with motivation.
AR, waves goodbye! I should see you in 3rd tri before you have the baby, unless he's really quite early. Have fun with the really big ladies!
Monnie, I think the edd question has been pretty well answered by those more knowledgeable than me!
Bertie, happy birthday! How nice having friends get to feel the baby too. I can't wait for H to be able to feel Attila.
My scan all went well today, Attila was very wriggly, but they got all the measurements and everything looks good. She's still a girl. They said my placenta was across the front of my tummy which is why I'm not feeling much, annoying, but as she gets bigger I shod still feel her more, hopefully. At the moment I get a few very faint low movements, but they're becoming a little bit more regular, so hopefully they'll just get more frequent and stronger. The consultant appt after went really well, he said there was an increased chance of an instrumental delivery again (J was helped out with a ventouse) and of a retained placenta again, but the chances weren't that much greater. Other than not being a home birth, and having to have a managed third stage (injection for the placenta) everything could pretty much be a normal labour, so no increased monitoring needed, and I can still have a waterbirth if a pool is free. They have 2 now rather than 1, so the chances are greater. Monnie, you do get out for the placenta, so logically I should have been allowed, but I was just concerned they were going to be a bit over cautious and recommend me lying on a bed again with continuous monitoring, which was unfun last time and I didn't want a second time. Here's a pic is anyone is still reading!
