OMG is it not Friday yet?!
Hipe everyone is ok today?
I'm feeling really nauseous today, and I'm still really full of a cold. That partnered with H waking me up really early has put me in a cranky mood!
3 weeks today until my scan. Eeek!
23/05/2013 at 08:58
Nope, still only Thursday :-(
I'm in a bad mood too - lack of sleep and general intolerance of other people today, I think!
Yay for nausea! (Well, you know what I mean).

Imp I can't believe it's only Thur too, what a long week! Hope your feeling better soon
Penny hello lovey, I'm in a stinking mood too! Must be a day for it!
I had a good sleep last night until my H woke me about 4am by checking the time on his phone and then I had to pee and couldn't get back to sleep! I'd just dozed off when my alarm went off so I'm grumpy!! Also feeling pretty sick but I've not had breakfast yet so probably just that! I was thinking of you when I got up this morning as I have a sort of pulled muscle like feeling today too!
That's me 7 weeks today, 2 weeks and 2 days until early scan. I was going to ask, I know it's early days but what are your plans for returning to work? Is anyone going to have to go back basically full time? I will and starting to worry a bit about it if I'm honest :(

Good Morning!! the sun is out so im feeling happy!
Imp & Penny, i was in a foul mood y.day, everyone was pissing me off, I was putting it down to hormones!
missdeedee you really are thinking ahead! Im still at the stage of trying to get a job so I can get maternity leave &pay! :-)
Ive found an internal job which im doing the application form for at the moment. Its not 100% what I do but im thinking that im only going to be fdoing it for 5 months! Not the best approach I know but im getting desperate!
Still pretty symptom free still :-S Apart from the tiredness! I was reading on line this morning that in about a month I should get more energy back. I told H & he rather glumly repeated "a month"!! Poor guy, ive been so tired this last month havent really really been up for any 'marital activities'!

Hi missdeedee. I guess we can all be grumpy and sleep-deprived together today. Whereabouts is your pulled muscle feeling? Mostly I get it around my bellybutton but also across my abdomen below my bellybutton as well.
Mrs Bass - yay for the sun being out! I think you have the right attitude about the job - you won't be doing it forever and it'll help you get your MA so that's all that matters. I'm symptom -free still too. Everyone says that we should enjoy it but it would be nice to have something, wouldn't it? Ahhh your poor H. Mine hasn't had the full thing for a few weeks now but has had what Jeremy Kyle would deem to be 'sexual contact' every now and then! Ha ha.
Today I'm gettting lots of tickly, prickly feelings in my abdomen - like pins and needles except not numb. And my boobs were a bit sore round the edges yesterday - yay! I think i'm going to miss out on sickness. So I'm generally feeling a bit more optimistic, despite a total lack of any other symptoms. I spoke to my H again last night about an early scan and mentioned that we could have one next weekend and he said, 'yes but darling you know if we do that you'll only want another one before we go on holiday so we may as well wait until then'. And I knew he was right so I ignored him! Lol.
As for going back to work - I think I'll have to, really. I can't see how we'll be able to afford for me to stay at home unless my H goes and works in the City, which he doesn't want to do. If anything he wants to get a job closer to home so that he can spend more time with me and the baby. Hopefully we can find an affordable nursery option - will have to deal with that as it comes.

Really cheesed off. Wrote great long post. My phone ate it. Grrr
23/05/2013 at 09:47
Imp- hope your cold goes away soon.
Penny and deedee- hope you end the day in a better mood.
Mrs bass- good luck in the job hunt.
Afm- I'm off work as MS (i'm renaming it all day random sickness!) plus stress of work my doctor told me to have the rest of the week off. I'm off to Spain on Saturday with my friend to visit another friend who lives there. I'm hoping I feel much better and the tablets kick in.
23/05/2013 at 09:55
Imp & Penny. My LO woke me at 6am yesterday and H managed to wake me at 6am today. So I with you on the tired & cranky bench.
MDD - I quit my job after maternity leave with baby#1. I loved my job but we decided that we weren't having children to pay someone else to raise them :-). Money is v.tight but we manage, we found a better mortgage deal etc and I cook everything from scratch and buy veggies from local market etc. I love it! I also figured I have a lifetime of getting a job but LO will only be tiny now.
MrsBass - tell him you'll snooze, he's welcome to carry on by himself iyswim
23/05/2013 at 10:01
C - enjoy Spain!
AFM - I fell down the stairs yesterday (I'm fine) but was holding LO hand and pulled her with me. She has bump on her head and she screamed a lot but she seems fine now. Also had email from carpet shop with quote for bedroom and a "BTW the coordinating carpet you are planning for stairs has been discontinued". Bloody annoyed :-(
Horsey got shoes. LO's new Charlie Banana nappies arrived. They are fab!
Today - off to a different carpet shop and possible radical rethink!
23/05/2013 at 10:05
Penny, deedee and horsefan, does nobody appreciate we need out sleep?!
Good luck with the job app mrs bass, 5 months using long to do something that you don't live.
Custard- sorry to hear your feeling pants still. I hope you're better for your trip to Spain.
Missdeedee- with regards to going back to work I don't know at the moment. I'm going to wait until after my 20 week scan and then get the calculator out. I know I'll have to go back, I just don't know for how many hours each week. If something else comes up whilst I'm on mat leave though I'm free to leave as I'll only get smp whilst on mat leave. So I'll be keeping my eyes open for something suitable whilst I'm off. Or I might try and start my own business.
23/05/2013 at 10:14
Mrs Bass, I'm a planner so been thinking about it for ages!
Penny I so nearly spat all my tea out there when I read your Jeremy Kyle comment! lol!
Custard sorry your all day random sickness (ADRS!) isn't any better. I've not actually been sick which I'm glad off but in a way it would kind of make me feel better.
HF there is no way I can quit work. This is one of the reasons I worry! I got a massive promotion last year and am now our main earner. I 100% have to come back to work or honestly we would have to move/downsize etc and we wanted to have our 'dream house' in a good school location etc before we had a family. I feel awful (for the exact reason's you put about being with the baby when they are a baby!) about having to go back to work. I will probably be able to drop hours slightly, but my work is very busy, very challenging and the hours can be terrible. I'm feeling so bad that I'm going to be back at work either 4 long days with one off or 5 shorter days and not be with my baby. A woman at my work goes on all the time about having a baby and leaving it with someone else to raise it which makes me worry so much!
23/05/2013 at 10:16
Penny you are right, it woul djust be reassuring! Ha ha, your lucky H, mine hasnt even been that lucky!
Custard, lucky you off to Spain, I hope the sickness behaves!
HorseFan that made me giggle! Oh the fall must have been scary!!! Hope you and your LO are ok!
My H has just emailed to say that he has a meeting the mornign when my scan is is and is checking what tiem it is! its at 10am so he "should be able to get out of the meeting"
He better ruddy do!
23/05/2013 at 10:20
Sorry Penny, meant to say, it's to the right of my belly button, just slightly below it and feels tight and like a pulled muscle.
HF hope your both ok after yesterday and didn't hurt yourself. Its the scare as much as anything isn't it.
Imp thanks lovey. I'm hoping to have 8 months off or more (again like you I'll have to get the calculator out and see if that's do able!) but then I'll probably end up going back probably around 30 hours a week. I have an hours travel to work on top of that. I'm sure other people have had to do this too but I feel 'judged' already!
23/05/2013 at 10:36
Don't feel judged at all. The vast majority of my friends with babies work full time, it's very normal. The ones who are able to reduce their hours or not work are lucky IMO. I would never ever judge someone for working and providing for their family. If you need to work then that's what you have to do. I wouldn't judge anyone with any choices they make about working/not working, I'm sure we all do what we believe is best!
23/05/2013 at 13:40
Custard - have a lovely time in Spain, I hope you don't feel too sick while you're out there.
HF - that sucks about the carpet. And your fall sounds scary, but glad you and LO are ok.
missdeedee - phew, that sounds like the same feeling I'm getting. Weird though, isn't it.
I was just in Asda Living with my friend at lunch, and she's going through surrogacy to have a baby, and obviously i'm trying not to get too excited about this one yet, and we stood there looking at the baby clothes, both desparately wanting to buy something and not wanting to buy something, iykwim!
23/05/2013 at 14:29
I feel so grumpy today. I have a really bad tummy which means I am running to the loo every five minute sorry tmi. I feel fat, and nothing fits. Before I got pregnant I had curly hair now it's just a mass of frizz. Totally many post sorry.
23/05/2013 at 14:36
missdeedee, i will probably have to go back to work, even if it is part time to ensure that we make ends meet! Also partly for my own sanity too!
Penny my friend and i did exactly the same a few weeks ago! they have such a cute "my Daddy Rocks" baby grow with guitars on it. My H is in a band and I thought it would be so cute! Im holding off though!
VV I hope your tummy is better soon! it doesnt sound pleasant!
23/05/2013 at 15:41
Awww VIvixon, hope you feel better all-round soon!
Mrs B,do you mean this one? direct.asda.com/.../G004128873,default,pd.html
I saw it too and wanted to get it just in case we have a boy, but my H won't let me yet as he's superstitious. Sounds perfect for you with your H being in a band!
23/05/2013 at 15:49
yes that's it! they had it with short sleeves & legs too! Id put a boy or a girl in it!! :-)
I was thinking of maybe getting it for Father's day as its after the scan but that might be a bit soppy & not sure my H would appreciate it!
23/05/2013 at 15:58
Awwww I think that's a really sweet idea
