How are we today? I can't remember if I posted yesterday that I went for a follow up scan after they couldn't get all the views they wanted at the 20 week scan and while baby was still on it's back with legs up they still managed good cardiac views and enough spinal views that they were happy with. Phew. I feel I can take a big sigh of relief now! Slept the longest I have in weeks last night between 10pm - 4am before getting up for the bathroom so delighted with that....plus I *think* my bump is finally starting!!!!!
Hello to all who follow!

Rubbish!!!!!! Tired and cold-y and ache-y and fed up and worrying about lack of movements. You asked! Lol.
How are you?

Oh dear. Poor Counter :( You've not been keeping very well this pregnancy which is a shame. Hope you are taking care of yourself!
I started the thread and then went back to edit the OP as I am always feart of cross posting! I'm v well though! Delivering training this morning so best get a boogie on!

Oh I've had a good few weeks of not being bad at all. It's much better than when I had my son, lol! I was bedridden the whole time :)
Scan news is fab! What a relief for you. And signs of bump too. Hurrah!

Sweetpea- Lovely news :) Yay to finally showing a bump!
Counter- Sorry your not feeling good. Are we meant to feel regular movements now? i have felt a few little movements but not alot.
AFM- I am freezing! Had a nice catch up with a friend last night over some chips and curry sauce, yum. Quite tired today but overall feeling pretty good. Ordered a car seat that Monnie had posted about yday on 1st tri, was the one we wanted and was a bargain price. First big purchase :) Midwife app next weds so looking forward to that. Used m doppler last night and baby had moved a bit higher :)

Bertie, I had flutters every 2 or 3 days at 11 weeks onwards then it became regular every evening, then in day and evening and nothing since Saturday. I think it's fine if you don't feel at all yet, but I am just fretting because I became accustomed to him being a wriggler!
I was wondering about a doppler, do you have trouble hearing? Would it worry you if you couldn't hear? Your evening sounds lovely :)
24/10/2013 at 09:44
Counter- I have always found the heartbeat, once you find it the first time its quite easy to find again as you know where to look (in my opinion) Especially now that I am a bit further along its very loud. I suppose if I didnt hear it I would just leave it a day or so and try again and hopefully not worry. I dont use it every day, just once or twice a week, I find it a nice way to bond with the baby as I haven't felt overly pregnant!

Bertie, sad to say I didn't bond with baby at all with my son. I was ill and found the whole process rotten. The movements really helped me, and I guess that's why I miss them also. Feeling nauseous again, and horrible, when he/she wriggles around it helps to feel positive about everything.
I might think about a doppler, it might be nice for my OH and son :) Where did you get it? Was it expensive? (so sorry, deja vu, sure I've asked you this lol)
24/10/2013 at 10:11
Oh thats a shame, must be horrible when you are feeling so poorly though. I think once I feel movements more frequent I wont use it as much, I have found it reassuring though.
Ha thats ok! got mine from Amazon, its an angel sounds one. It was on offer for £20 and you get the gel with it. I have run out of gel so now use baby oil lol.
24/10/2013 at 12:50
Hi Bertie! Defo don't worry about movements at the moment. It may well be a few weeks yet. Brill news about the car seat!! Are there restrictions on how frequently you use the doppler? I am not meaning to scaremonger but I'd read elsewhere it's not great for the baby....not evidence I've read myself so it might be worth finding out for sure!
24/10/2013 at 13:05
Hi sweetpea- Oh im not worrying as I know its early yet :) I looked online about how much to use it but nowhere really said it was dangerous for baby as its alot lower than ultrasound etc and I only use it for like 1 minute, find the heartbeat and then put it away. And they are approved so I would have thought ok. I wouldnt use it like every day though or for long periods of time just in case.
24/10/2013 at 13:10
ah okay that's cool. I don't have one - it was just something I'd seen another pregnant person mention that I thought I'd pass on to be on the safe side!!! Risk averse - moi?! Lol!
24/10/2013 at 13:24
Ha, I worry about everything so did look online first just to make sure.

just nipping on quickly at lunchtime so v quick personals.
SP, glad scan went well, and bump is starting to pop!
Counter, hope you feel better soon
Bertie, lots of lovely baby related stuff happening with you, what car seat did you get? have you looked at prams?
all fine here, knackered though as M was awake about five times last night - getting her to nursery this morning was a struggle! got yoga tonight but considering giving it a miss. I watched (yup, watched from the comfort of the sofa) my pregnancy exercise dvd for the first time last night and it actualy doesn't look too energetic, lots of strength building stuff but little cardio, so I'll give that a go at the weekend and try and do it a few times a week - must not let myself go completely!
Hope everyone else is doign well x

Hey weekender- We got the maxi cosi cabriofix. Am hoping to get the base too but waiting a while as will change ym car eventually as my mini isn't very practical! We hadnt planned on buying until after the 2nd scan but it was such a barg!
haha, watched the exercise dvd, that made me laugh! Report back once you have done it and I might give it a go if you reccomend. Howcome M was awake so much?

She said she had a sore bottom but there was nothing to see. Covered it in sudocrem and metanium, gave calpol, then gave ibuprofen a couple of hours later but still wasn't helping apparently. Problem I think is that she "forgets" to wipe, and whereas I always remind her at home, at nursery I think they are just left to their own devices. She said she was fine this morning, and nursery said they'll try and get her to nap this afternoon. Will let you know about the dvd. Great about the car seat. What kind of car are you thinking of getting?
Will try to nip back on in a bit!

Aw bless her. Nursery should make sure that happens though shouldn't they? Hopefully she is better today. I have only really looked at corsas. i know they aren't much bigger than a mini but they have 5 doors and the boot will definately be bigger, I can only fit about 3 shopping bags in my boot!
24/10/2013 at 14:46
Watched the fitness DVD, love it! I thought only guys did that, lol.
