I'm struggling to get on during the day (keeping an 'eye' when I can!) so thought I'd take the opportunity of a spare 5 minutes to pop on now! Hope everyone is well, and hello to the new joiners - lovely to see you all here!
AFM - Baby is wriggly now and its lovely, brings a huge smile to my face. Sadly, things at work seem to be taking a nose dive again. I'm no where near in the state I was in previously, and I won't let myself go there again (I hope), but I'm very aware that me coming back and stating the reasons I was off, and who had caused them, now may be being used against me (i.e. instead of being used to 'help' its being used to attack). You would also think I'd been off for an eternity with the amount of snide comments I've had off said person.
I don't want to put too much detail on here as it would be very specific and you never know who is reading! But I've started a log (better late than never) and trying to not let them 'win'. I've only had one tiny cry over it all, although woke up this morning after a night of stressing over it and feel quite emotional. I think thats hormones too though! Hopefully it all blows over.... ? As I'm sure you can all imagine, I've been planning in my head to move my maternity leave forward again, planning never to go back, blablablabla!

Morning Pep, so sorry things are bad again at work. A log of everything sounds like a good idea. Keep that chin up!
AFM - Not much news really! Just wanted to pop on and say hi!

Morning, pep, it's lovely to see you on the thread again. You shouldn't have to put up with bullying behaviour in the workplace. You weren't off sick for long at all, and even if you had been it's no excuse for snide comments. I don't know that it's a good approach to hope it all blows over, you've got to take actual steps towards a solution, like that log you're keeping. In no way should being honest about what caused you to go off sick be used against you. Is there anyone at work who is able to provide support/ back you up? I think moving up mat leave might be fine, actually, but I think never to return again might just be the current hormones and stress talking. I hope it doesn't keep on like this for you.
Morning Ducky, I don't think I welcomed you to the thread before? I don't remember when I was just lurking and when I actually posted last week, memory like a sieve!
AFM, not much here either. I'm starting to waddle a bit now though, and I'm not even that big! And my long walks with Wispa are getting longer despite the distance staying the same.. And getting out of bed is a bit of a funny rolling manoeuvre. Ahh well, it could be worse. I've happily avoided a lot of common pregnancy trouble, so I'm happy to be a silly looking waddler for a couple months!
06/03/2014 at 08:39
Pep it's good to see you. I put a shout out for you the other day but I don't think you were about.
Sorry to hear work is pants again. Wispa is right, perhaps you need to face it head on this time. Is there someone more senior you can speak to? Escalate it?
Wispa booo to a waddle, although I think it's fairly normal. The rolling out of bed is supposed to be better for your bump, apparently it stops it going pointy.
AFM- well I've got root canal tonight. Eeeek! Plus I've got bloods this morning to check for my chicken pox immunity, boring story so I won't go into it. All in all a pretty rubbish day!

Pep, sorry things aren't looking so great at work again. I think a log is a good idea. So lovely to hear that baby is wriggling away now :) If you ever want to chat to someone away from the public sphere of MD let me know and I'll post my email address. I'm an excellent listener x
Ducky, hi! :)
Wispa, my mw told me that rolling yourself to an upright position is better for your stomach muscles and like Imp says it's supposed to stop your bump being pointy. I've been rolling for a while now, just in case it's true!
Imp, good luck at the docs later, I'm sure all is fine with the chicken pox xx And lots of luck for tonight too! Really hoping that this is the end of all your bother with your tooth. By this time tomorrow it will all be over with xx
PS, missed your first day yesterday! Welcome to 2nd tri!! x
AFM, sorry I didn't make it on yesterday, it was a busy day at work and I was SO tired. It's like first tri all over again.
Baby's kicks were a lot stronger yesterday, they felt different from the moment I woke up and when I glanced down I could see my stomach lurching and twitching with each of her kicks! It was like something was trying to escape lol :)
Hope everyone has a good day, the weekend is in sight!

Pep - sorry things are bad at work again. Keeping a log is a very good idea.
Ducky - morning!
Wispa - I've been waddling this week too, but mainly because I've been coughing so much I've somehow made my hips sore.
Imp - good luck with root canal and bloods.
AFM - nothing much to report really. H felt her kick for the first time last night, which he was happy about. I'm going to get up and do some housework when I've stopped being lazy, then off to work for 3.
06/03/2014 at 09:04
Missed you Fig! Hope work isn't so busy for you today.
06/03/2014 at 09:08
Oh god, the pointy bump is when your abdominal muscles separate, isn't it?! Grim! Definitely will be rolling around all the time now, I do not want that to happen.
Imp, yell be fine with the root canal. You won't feel a thing other than maybe a bit of discomfort from keeping your jaw open so long. And if you have pain on the tooth a few days later you'll just need a course of antibiotics, but you might not even need them. Is it all in one appointment, though? I thought they had to be over at least two? Is it a molar or a front tooth? Molars have more roots to fill, so maybe other teeth only need one appt.. Whatever the case, you'll be fine!
Fig, stomach-lurching kicks! Has your H felt the baby kick yet? Has he SEEN baby kick yet? apparently later on you can actually see a foot sticking out, or an elbow!
06/03/2014 at 09:10
Ixia, yay for your H feeling baby kick. Enjoy your bit of laziness before work!
06/03/2014 at 09:35
Fig thanks, I'm hoping it'll be ok too! Yay for a dancing bump! :) I hope the tiredness lifts for you again.
Ixia glad that your H got to feel bump kicking. How lovely.
Wispa he did tell me that I will need 2 appts, it's not a molar but it's not a front tooth, it's the one inbetween- I can't remember what it's called?
06/03/2014 at 09:39
Ixia, lovely news that H felt the baby kick :)
Wispa, yep H felt her kick last weekend, but has been away this week for work so is yet to see her new alien trick. When my friend was pregnant you could see little fists poking out of her towards the end! Unfortunately yes, separated abdominal muscles is exactly what the mw was telling me about...I almost rolled out of her office and have been rolling ever since!
Imp, fingers crossed that you won't need two appointments after all! Will be thinking of you lovely x
06/03/2014 at 10:16
Imp, I'm not sure what they're called either, but if it's closer to the front of your mouth you might not have to have it open as wide. Mine was on one of the far back molars and my jaw ached! Most of the work will be done on the first appt anyways, the second should be just to put in the filling.
Can anyone else see their pulse from the placenta pumping away on their bump? When I look to see baby kick it's mesmerising, right around the belly button. Weird, though.
06/03/2014 at 12:09
I can see a HB but I'm not sure that's the placenta as mine is at the back.
Thanks for that Wispa, I was hoping all the work would be out of the way today. He has said it might need a crown if I lose too much of the tooth, so I'm thinking that might mean a third appt. I am really scared of the dentist and the only thing really making me go through this now is that I don't have to pay for the privilege of being scared and in pain!
06/03/2014 at 12:22
Crown is nothing, though! I have a half crown on mine - went in to have it put on 5-6 months after the root canal. They have to be done in two appts (one to take the impression and the other to fit the crown), but they were both less than 5 minutes in the chair and no needles, no pain, nothing.
06/03/2014 at 12:58
Fab, thanks for that. So I should assume they will do thr work tonight and temp fill it- then next time fill it and get crown impression- then 3rd time fit the crown? I'm hoping this is all covered by my mat expemtion card!
06/03/2014 at 14:43
Hope you are all well! I have'nt been on for a while as work has been mental but time for a catch up now!
Pepp - sorry to hear things at work aren't good. Hings are quite stressful here and its not a nice atmosphere to be in. Look after yourself!!
Ducky - Hope the twins are doing well!!
Wispa - Enjoy waddling :)
Imp - good luck tobight - sounds tough!
Figaro - Enjoy the kicks that you can see its amazing!
Ixia - Hope you are well!
AFM - all good - bump growing nicely - and everyone say I look much further than I am...hmmmmm. Little Sue is in baby overdrive God love her - constantly checking for things that the baby can't put in their mouth and insisted on buying her a toothbursh on the weekend - its so heart-warming!! Going to be a long time until August. Have my next check up next Tuesday so hopefully they can confirm its a girl - totally thrown on names so hope i get some help on my other post!
Talk soon xxx

Pep - lovely to see you here. Sorry that things are still pretty crap for you at work. Thats good you've started a log, its a shame you have to but its really a worthwhile thing to do. I know this is easier said than done, but please try not to let it get to you too much. Think of yourself and the baby first and foremost. Hugs xxx
Ducky - hi lovely, hope you're ok
Wispa - booooo to waddling but, as you say, its good that you've avoided a lot of the bad stuff thus far. Long may it continue!!!!! I can feel my pulse when I put my hand on my bump but haven't looked at it to see if I can see it moving as well. I've got an anterior placenta too.
Imp - hope you got your bloods done ok today and the dentist wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. Hoping your bloods come back with good news.
Fig - thats so cool you are getting strong kicks and are actually able to see your bump moving now. Amazing!!!!
Ixia - thats exciting that H felt a kick last night. hope you got some housework done.
Sue - hi, nice to see you on here. Glad things are coming along nicely.
AFM - its been a loooooooong week. Can't wait for work to finish tomorrow, I'm so tired. My back is still sore a bit and I actually think its my kidney but the mw checked for infections yesterday at my appointment and everything was clear. Not sure if that is good or bad because now there is no quick fix for this pain and I don't really know what it is. Hopefully it will clear up on its own.
Other than that nothing exciting. Baby CA is still kicking randomly. Not particularly getting stronger and I'm still struggling to feel one on my hand because they never kick when I've got my hand there. V frustrating. Also because they are sporadic H hasn't felt one either. Ah well, plenty of time for that I guess. I'm 23 weeks tomorrow, thats frightening!!!!!
Hope everyone has had a good Thursday xxx
