That update is so incredibly sad :-( I can't comprehend it!
I felt the baby move last night for the first time and I feel so guilty for being happy when I know how much sadness someone else is going through :-(

CC I've been thinking about you so much and actually it has caused me to talk to my baby more about keeping safe in there and how loved he/she is. Your story is utterly tragic and I'm completely heartbroken for you. I hope we can all continue to be a source of support for you. Much love xxx

Just a silly question about blood tests. I have to go for one before my next midwife app, is this just another normal one or do I have to have the lucozaide test? The midwife didn't say I needed to.
05/12/2013 at 14:35
Do you mean the test for gestational diabetes? I don't think that's done until later, and I think you have to fast beforehand - if that's right I imagine your midwife would have warned you so you knew how to prepare. If it helps, I had blood tests at my booking in appointment (12 weeks) and then will have another set (along with my anti-D injection) at my 28-week appointment.
Maybe worth checking with the midwife, if you have a higher than normal risk of developing diabetes during pregnancy I suppose they may test you earlier.

Yes sorry thats what I meant! That's what i thought and I thought i read somewhere you only need that one if you are at risk of having it? I had mine at around 10 weeks but at my last midwife app she said to get them done again before my next appointment which is xmas eve. I will be 24 weeks then. Maybe I am having my 28 week ones early?

AR, lovely idea to post positive things.
ABC, it's mega windy here too, we've had 2 people call our office to tell us the roof is coming off!
Monnie, how lovely to feel the baby, yay!
Mrs V, have fun in 3rd tri!
CC, please don't apologies for saying anything you're feeling. I wish there was more I could do or say to help, but we're all thinking of you and sending all our support your way. Huge hugs.
Bertie, I don't know about blood tests - I had 2 sets in my last pregnancy I think (or 3 including the 12 weeks bloods), but the second set were a bit later I think.
Flossy, how lovely to have your H feel the baby too, I think it's so nice for them to really feel that there's something there after we've been feeling it for a while.
AFM, I'm feeling very grateful to my H for supporting me so well in this pregnancy. He's doing all the getting up in the night with J as I'm so tired, and I'm very lucky to have him, and to be pregnant again.
