hope no one minds me starting this today, couldn't see another thread.
already on the way to work and feel strangely different today knowing people know about baby. My boss has known for a few weeks but will tell big boss when she lands in Sydney tomorrow. I am sure all will be ok but they are both very driven and I know work/career is their main focus, big boss is over for two months over summer and I will be working with her in the lead up to maternity. i hope she doesn't feel I will be any less efficient due to baby. Also they have invested quite a lot in terms of studying which is on going throughout maternity (and I am really happy about this) so I hope they don't feel I have let the side down at all by having mat leave. Sorry that's a bit oh a ramble!
has anyone got a baby on board badge for the train/tube? How do you get one?
will check back later, hi to all x

Hi NB and welcome to 2nd tri! I hope your boss is ok about it all, it sounds like they should be.
I don't travel on the train so I can't help with the badge, sorry.
Well, the anxiety ahead of next weeks scan has started. iI had done so well up until last night but I had a dreadful nights sleep. I am hoping it was a one off but history tells me it probably wasn't!
Happy feet is kicking away like mad at the moment, they were last night too. It makes me smile!

Hi Nina, fab to see you here. I'm sure your bosses will understand, and you can always use keep in touch days throughout, as well as maintaining regular contact with them to keep up to date on what is going on. Sorry I'm not sure re:baby on board but sure someone here will be.
AFM: Having had no sickness/nausea in either pregnancy, yesterday I felt sick as a dog....thankfully just nausea though. I had another great night again til 7 but sadly I had broken sleep anyway with wees and just not being able to get comfy. Work today (boo!) But looking forward to sharing news with everyone...haven't been in since my scan. I'll pop back later for personals x

Imp - must have cross posted. After everything you've been through it's completely understandable to be anxious, but I have every faith you'll be coming back here next week with a fab pics after an amazing scan. Big hugs lovely x

Sorry you were feeling rotten yeserday, has is passed today? Maybe you just ate something that didn't agree with you? Enjoy telling all your friends at work :)
13/02/2014 at 08:25
Hello second tri!
Ninabeanie, you can get them at most tube stations (although I have asked at Liverpool Street and Oxford Circus and neither had them) or there are details at the bottom of this link
Although I am still early, I am going to get one as the tube is horrendous with nausea (I just need to remember to take it off before I get to work!)
*runs back off to first tri*

It seems to have thankfully, thanks Imp. Just an achy back today from not getting comfy in bed. Hoping it was just something I ate as I'd rather like a similar pregnancy to my one with O, haha!

Nina - great to see you!
Imp - hugs to you :)
Coco - hope you are feeling better today.
AFM - I'm 20 weeks! Scan day tomorrow :) I'm writing lists for finishing decorating the house and what we need for the nursery. There's so much we want to do over the next couple of months!

Good luck for tomo ixia.

Ninabeanie, welcome! Soooo lovely to see you here, huge congratulations.
Imp, sorry you're sleeping badly lovely, I hope it was just a one off and not down to huge anxiety, but it's understandable you're worried. It's really not too long to go now till the scan, so hopefully you'll be feeling more relaxed after next week.
Coco, sorry you were feeling rough, I'd be surprised if it's the onset of anything pregnancy related, it'd be quite unusual for it to start so late. Enjoy telling everyone at work, do you think they'll be surprised or have guessed?
Gavi - *waves*
Ixia, ooh, good luck for tomorrow! Time starts to fly in the second half I think, as the reality of being pregnant sinks in and you realise everything you want to get sorted!
AFM, feeling a bit snotty and full of cold today, but otherwise I'm fine. I had a good night's sleep, only got up for 1 wee and not at all for J, so that was fab. Attila was having lots of little kicks yesterday, my sister sits opposite me at work and she could see a couple of the kicks which was nice. Is anyone planning anything exciting for Valentine's day tomorrow? We don't really celebrate it, but I'll be peevus if I don't get a card, and I'm going to buy some nice steak for dinner and maybe watch a movie and snuggle on the sofa.
Hope everyone's having a good day. x

Ninabeanie, welcome to 2nd tri! I believe you can just ask at most of the main stations for a badge. Not sure how effective they are though. I didn't have a badge but I did have a very definite little bump the last time I was on a tube. I saw a fat sweaty man glance at my stomach before quickly looking away and busying himself in his ipad. Tw@t!
Imp, so glad Happy Feet is kicking away lots at the moment. It's like they know you need a little bit of reassurance at the moment :) Everything will be fine at your scan, I'm sure of it. I hope it hurries up and gets here for you xx
Coco, enjoy telling everyone today! Sorry you weren't feeling so great yesterday, I hope it's well and truly gone now.
Hi Gavi! *waves*
Ixia, happy 20 weeks! Good luck for tomorrow.
AFM, I was 20 weeks yesterday! How did that happen?! Lol! My scan is a week on Friday. Nothing much else to report babywise, she's kicking a lot in the evenings and sometimes during the day now too. Resubmitted my urine sample at the docs yesterday and preparing myself for another 2 week wait for the results. Honestly, such a faff to discover if I have a urinary infection or not!
Almost the weekend ladies! Hi to all who follow :)
13/02/2014 at 10:28
Missed you SG. How lovely that your sister can see some of the kicks! That's very exciting!
13/02/2014 at 10:33
Welcome Nina. All I can say, is please don't worry about your maternity leave and the impact on your career etc. Its not worth it. It will all work out just fine I'm sure.
Imp - Bless you, big hug. Hope the next week goes quickly for you so its here and you can get it over and done with. How lovely that its kicking away.
Coco - Enjoy sharing your wonderful news!
Ixia - Best of luck for tomorrow!
Spikey - Hope you feel better soon.
AFM - Still feeling sorry for myself. Stupidly went onto work emails yesterday and had a reply from my sick note asking where X Y Z was (no, sorry to hear this and get well soon!). That set me off again. The X Y Z is work thats not really progressed and probably work thats contributed to me being off sick in the first place - its all additional work and given I already had too much to deal with (to the point where a FULL TIME new head was meant to be employed in October to help) - surely it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that asking for additional work might be pushing it a bit? You do have to wonder what goes through some peoples ignorant minds. (I'm probably going to move this comment, but need to get it off my chest).
More baby related - I've still not felt any movements from baby (that I've identified anyway), hope I do soon as I can imagine its a wonderful feeling :)
13/02/2014 at 10:34
Fig! Happy 20 weeks! Amazing :)
13/02/2014 at 10:38
Pep, step away from your work emails. They can wait. No-one will die if they don't find out where X Y Z is. It's just not that important xx
Oh, and what a lovely person to not even wish you a speedy recovery. Definitely ignore them!
13/02/2014 at 10:43
I know, I'm my own worst enemy. Not going near them again!
13/02/2014 at 10:45
Good, they can wait. Hope the break has you feeling much better very soon x
13/02/2014 at 10:49
SG I'm glad you slept well. How was yoga?
Fig not long for your scan either, next week is going to be a good week! :) 20 weeks too, wow!
Pep, fig is right. Leave well alone with those emails. It'll only stress you out more and they need to just deal with it without you.
13/02/2014 at 10:59
Fig - happy 20 weeks, half way there! Yay for lots of kicks, boo to still not knowing what's going on & if you've a UTI. Better to make sure it's checked though. Boo to to the tube man, how rude! That said it's possible he didn't know, and didn't want to risk it. Someone said to me the other day when I mentioned pregnancy that they thought I might be but didn't want to say anything just in case. I refer you to the bump thread - there's no way that's just tummy!
Pep, what a T**t-bag for not even asking how you are. Don't reply, don't check your emails, you're off work so don't think about it lovely. Please try to get it all out of your mind and have a relaxing few days off.
Imp - yoga was good thanks. I almost didn't go as I've got a headache along with the cold, and it was peeing it down last night and I can't park all that near so knew I'd get wet, but it's not on next week so I thought I really should go, and it was nice to get out of the house and do something. Someone had brought their 7week old baby in and he was so cute- I definitely want one!
13/02/2014 at 11:19
Morning ladies, hope everyone is well. Can't do personals because I keep having to close the window when people pop into the office but I have been keeping tabs on you all ;)
Nothing to report baby wise. Finally finished the painting in the nursery - four bloody coats!!
