Hi Mummy Simpson - Best of luck at the growth scan. Really hope you get back to MW led. Keep us posted!
Nothing much to report here. Woke up at 3am wide awake. Could happily have got up but dozed on and off until alarm time at 7am. Body clearly getting ready for disturbed (no) sleep

Morning ladies, is there room for a (not so) little one in here?
3rd tri today so thought I would jump in with both feet!
Baby out vibes for noggin and popcorn!
MummySimpson, fingers crossed for your scan today and hope you are returned to mw led care . I'm also measuring small, but am still me led for now.
LP, crap sleep is rubbish. Hope you're not too tired today.
Afm, not much to report, on way to work, come home, clean the house ready for the inlaws coming this weekend. X

MS - Good luck with the scan, hope you can go back to being Midwife led.
LP - You must be feeling tired! I sometimes think that having to get up a couple of times in the night to go toilet is good practice for what's to come!
Not much to report from me either, the weeks seem to be flying by!
Looking forward to seeing BAs from Noggin and Popcorn.

Missed you MrsP - hello! X

MS fingers crossed the scan goes well , keep us updated
LP hope you have an easy day after waking at 3am
AFM had to take W to nursery on the bus yesterday- never again!! It was absolutely packed with school kids, I had to stand and hold W to stop her getting trampled on, I was stood holding her for ten mins before anyone gave me a seat. I thought i was about to collapse. My SPD was agony for the rest of the day I could barely walk. Feeling much better today though. Had a MW appointment who confirmed baby's head isn't engaged ( good for me as hopefully means she won't arrive early). I thought she wasn't engaged as when I walk I keep feeling her dropping down then bobbing back up again, a very strange feeling!
Two weeks today I will be at the hospital waiting for my ELCS eeek!!
Baby out vibes to Noggin and Popcorn
JT 38 weeks

Oops took far too long to reply then, have missed a few!-
MrsP hello welcome to third tri
BE hope you are well, I definitely agree about the weeks flying by.

Hello Ladies - yes, I am still hanging on !!
MS - When they say baby is measuring small, what does that mean . My girls were both way less than 6lb at term+8 and term+0 but absolutely fine and healthy, just small. No-one ever picked up on that they might be small. We even got invited to do a small at birth study recently.
LP - Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well, i didn't really either - my hips hurt from lying on my side and then I kept rolling onto my back which would then wake me because we aren't supposed to sleep on our backs!
Mrs Penguin - Another graduate to 3rd Tri - welcome!
BE - The weeks do fly by, although by the time you get to term you will feel like you have been pregnant f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
JT - The bus sounds like a nightmare, can't believe it's only two weeks until your ELCS. That will whizz by :)
AFM - consultant appointment this afternoon for another S+S and plan for induction. I am really going to push for tomorrow or Saturday, the amount of comments and pitiful looks I am getting at the school gate is really getting me down. Fortunately, H will be home to pick the girls up today and then he's starting his paternity leave (holiday) tomorrow so I don't have to do the school run. Really tired too, might have a bath and a little snooze shortly. Baby seems happy enough, just too comfortable!

Good luck with the growth scan MS, I really hope you're back to being MW led.
LP, must have been the night for disturbed sleep, I feel like a zombie this morning.
MrsP - welcome to 3rd tri! With you and Horsefan in here now it's nice to have some new faces, it had got a bit quiet and Noggin and Popcorn will also be on their way soon!
JT - I had that bobbing up and down feeling for a couple of weeks, really bizarre - baby felt all 'loose' inside! It's been engaged for ages now though - full engaged since 34 weeks (bobbing in and out from 30 weeks) but I hear it's more common to engage very early with first babies and doesn't necessarily mean an early arrival!
Noggin - fingers crossed a relaxing day followed by S&S brings things on overnight - especially if hubs can take the kids to school in the morning as well so you can just chill. Come on baby, everyone wants to meet you now!
AFM - awake every hour again, 4 wee-trips (usually just have 2) and have woken up this morning with pain very low and at the front - stabby pain if I straighten up too quickly. It partly feels like someone giving my bladder a sharp squeeze, but not quite. I don't think it's cervix pain, could be round ligament pain? Not bad anyway, just takes my breath away every so often! Birth pool is being delivered tomorrow - I'm so excited!

Ms - good luck with your scan today
LP - hope you're not feeling too tired today x
Mp - have a good day at work x
Be - due date will be here before you know it, I've been thinking the same!
JT - 2weeks!! It's going to fly by.
Afm - last couple of days at work before ML, I'm really ready for it now! Busy few days though handing all the work over. Put one of our wardrobes up last night, hopefully get the rest done tonight and we can move back in there over the weekend.

Noggin - tons of baby out vibes for you!!! Fingers crossed for the s&s and you can get the induction booked in.
Mrs 50 - make sure you get some rest today, very exciting about the birth pool!!
03/10/2013 at 11:59
Noggin- hope the s&s is successful this time.
50s very exciting about the birth pool bet you can't wait to use it
Banzy hope the next couple of days go quickly until your ML starts.
Nothing from popcorn today? I wonder if she has queue jumped!

Hi everyone, feeling a bit rubbish. Dunno if its because I had flu & whooping cough jabs yesterday or cos I'm quite pregnant or cos the homebirth meet yesterday made me realise I'm going to have 2children in 12(ish!)week's. Which if I'm honest I'm feeling a bit daunted by. I don't get a minute to myself at the moment so gawd knows what its gonna be like with 2.
I'm also having massive doubts in myself re homebirth. Previous baby was born at home - the labour/birth experience was great but I had a 3rd degree tear requiring transfer to hospital for stitching in theatre. The hospital bit was so awful. I'm so scared if it happening again (the hospital bit, I couldn't care less about tearing!).
Arghh, sorry for being a grump!

Hi all back from scan and its good news. Me and H are very happy with the results and proud of our little boy. He is now measuring spot on for his gestation and they have taken me back to being midwife led. Consultant has just said that as they have put us through all this worry they will get the peadiatrician to give him a really good check over when he is born. To put our minds fully at rest.
Noggin - it was picked up at his 20 week scan that his head and femur length weren't within the percentile scale for his gestation, they were quite alot under what should have been
This can be a sign of problems like down syndrome and other development issues. So we've been having regular scans to make sure he is growing and all on the 50th percentile now, so measuring perfect. I was surprised how much it had shot up since the last time we went.

Banzy, I hope the rest of today and tomorrow fly by so you can have a restful weekend and start to enjoy your maternity leave.
HF - I suppose you have to think whether you'd rather just transfer to hospital for stitching if needed (which of course it may not be) or whether you'd rather labour and birth there and not have to transfer. How would you feel if you birthed in hospital but didn't tear? Would you regret not being at home? What about the other way round - if you birth at home and the same thing happens, how would you feel about transferring? Tearing is less likely in 2nd births, even with scar tissue. What about perineal massage to try and reduce the likelihood further?

Had an event this morning so only just able to pop on.
It was an openning of a new midwfire and nursing simulation centre so i got lots of comments about "being in the right place"!! When I told somone I had 10 weeks to go they told me I looked huge and due sooner than that! Great!
03/10/2013 at 16:44
MS - that's great news, you must be so relived.
Mrs50s - if I opted for local midwife led unit - its in the hospital (that puts me off for starters- just a corridor away from intervention) - and I didn't tear, I would be really hacked off I wasn't in my own home - however the thought of being transferred and thus seperated from baby again (she had her own ambulance as they refused to take us together) really scares me. At least if I tore in midwife unit, I wouldn't be seperated from baby.
It didn't help that my midwife has been reviewing my notes from last birth and told me yesterday that baby's head measured 38.5cm and the average is 33cm. I didn't need to know that. Thanks!
I'm going to be doing some perineal massage. Consultant recommended it (I know, I thought he'd have been gunning for c-section, LOL)
I just don't wanna go anywhere near a hospital at all :-(

Oh MrsB, I remember buying our car seat first time around with approx 10weeks to go and the staff thought I was due any day!!
Arrghh the GP has just phoned, to inform me my urine test shows I do have UTI and she wants me to have antibiotics. Maybe that's contributinh to me feeling rubbish!
