I'm finding it uncomfortable sitting in bed to feed A during the night due to my stitches, and would like to try some lying down positions, preferably on my side, but don't really know where to start.

Get yourself comfy on your side and place baby so nose in line with nipple again, like latching on top, tuck your top arm under their tummy to hold them close and prop the under arm under your pillow to keep your head raised. You won't roll on them this way and they won't roll backward with your nipple in their mouth - trust me, that hurts!! haha.
Hope you find this more comfortable!!

I use a v shaped pillow one end goes on a normal pillow and the othe end of the v by my tummy. Place baby on pillow with arm behind back to stop rolling away position as normal for latching? It is hard to explain but I struggled doing it in the flat - you must not fall asleep in this position because of use of pillows.

I used to lay baby down first on the bed and then move myself into position with my arm that is on the bed up higher than babies head. It is really trial and error. I hope you find a good position for you.

Also I found that using the top boob for whatever side I was on was more comfortable. So if I lay on my left, I'd feed with the right hand boob.
