Does anyone know if I need to tell my insurer before I travel? We're going to ibiza at the end of August when I'll be about 23 weeks pregnant, is there anything else I need to do? Do I need a letter from my mw or anything?

It will depend on insurers. I went abroad at 31 weeks, took insurance with Marks and Spencer as they seemed to offer the best cover and I phoned to ask if I needed to inform them and they said no. I did nothing other than take my hand held notes with me

We told them, had a bit of hassle as they wouldn't insure us until we had confirmed with the gp about jabs for Thailand. Gp ok for me to not have them, insurance company fine so long as if anything related happens gp will confirm above. Took a while, but all sorted and no extra cost. I would imagine you won't have any problems with Europe.

Great ok. What about the airline, might they ask me for proof that I'm only 23 weeks?

I was told there was no need to tell them as it's not a medical condition.

Your insurance company may say that you didn't need to tell them but it's always be better to be on the safe side and tell them. As for the airline, check with their terms & conditions but most won't require a letter confirming you are fit to fly until 28 weeks. You will have your notes with you anyway so that will confirm that you are under 28 weeks if there are any questions.
