Hello ladies, how are we all doing?
Can you believe how quickly our little ones seem to be growing?!! E is going to be 20 weeks on Monday!
She is such a happy and content little girl, you just have to smile at her and she chuckles away. she happily sits in her bouncer wacking her toys around!
Her sleeping is stil really good, she goes to bed around 7-8pm then H eds her at about 11pm then she sleeps through until 6ish. some days she wakes earlier at 5 but then other days she sleeps until 8am!
she tends to have a couple of hours nap in the morning and about 30 mins- an hour in the afternoon. inbetween is filled with time in her bouncer, singing funny songs and her favorite hobby at the moment, watching the world go by and watching people!
We are spending lots of time on her mat too trying to encourage rolling, its not happening though, she shuffles around a bit on her back but that's it! Also encouraging sitting up, she is almost there!
We are starting to think about weaning too! I ordered the free Cow and Gate book which is really usefull! Im a little excited about it! going to get her a high chair this next week so she can get used to that!
I have a return to work date of 2 June which is only a couple of weeks away :-( We have found a really nice nursery and we have induction hours booked for the week after next. we both go in for an hour then the next day I leave her there for an hour! eeks!
Not 100% sure how expressing is going to go while being back at work, but 3 weeks after being at work I will hit the 6 month mark which had been when original target for breast feeding. Im really pleased I have managed to express for that long! We do have half a freezer full of expressed milk too which will keep her going to a while so even if I can only express once or twice a day and my supply reduces, we still have plenty on my milk!
So that is what we have been up to, how are you all getting on?
Oh and here are a couple of recent photos! this is her at baby sensory last week!

I just wrote a really long reply then MD ate it :-(
hi Mrs Bass. Nice to hear from you. E looks and sounds like a fantastic baby her sleeping is amazing. You're right about time flying I'm not sure how maya'a got to 6 months already. (Well tomorrow)
i hope returning to work goes smoothly and that E enjoys nursery. I'm sure she will and you'll get some adult time too. Albeit at work!!
Well M is 6 months tomorrow and we started weaning 2 weeks ago. we're doing purée weaning as that's what I'm happiest with And it's going pretty well. With each meal she's more keen and leans in for the spoon. I'd forgotten just how messy and time consuming it is though.
we've had a tough time with daytime naps as for the first 5 months M would only nap on someone which proved difficult with a toddler to entertain too. However I'm very relieved that in the last month she has mastered sleeping on her own upstairs in her cot and she self settles with a lullaby playing in the background. It's such a relief as I now get 2 long periods (1.5-2 hours) during the day when I can have some quality 1 to 1 with Isla.
Night times are ok she goes down at 7 and wakes usually twice at 1.30 and 4.30 for feeds Waking between 6-7 for the day. I'm hoping she'll go for longer stretches soon. She's quite similar to her sister though who also didn't sleep through til she was 6.5 months. So we'll see.
When she's not napping M happy to bounce in her chair or lie on her mat bashing her toys Or we take Isla to the park or visit friends who all have children under 3.
at 5 months Maya cut her two bottom teeth, she was terribly chewy and dribbly for a while but that's stopped now they're through. She can also roll from back to front but then gets stuck on her tummy which she finds frustrating. Nowhere near ready to sit up yet.
Im returning to work in September so still have a bit of time yet. When I do go back M will be attending the same nursery as her sister on a Monday and my parents will have them both on a Thursday and Friday until Isla gets her funding then mum and dad will have m on her own. I hope M enjoys nursery as much as I does.
She's quite a little chubster and had doubled her birth weight by 5 months. I just love those chubby thighs!!
ive found it surprising how much more laid back I am second time around it's amazing how much more confident I feel. It's made having two not quite as hard as I imagined. Don't get me wrong it's still tough going sometimes. But then I look at both my beautiful girls and I think how lucky I am.
I'll try and add some pics now. Hi to any of my other tri buddies that follow.

Gorgeous big babies!
A is 6 months now too, I have no idea how this has happened. He is absolutely lovely, such a happy little chap (most of the time!) and always smiling and laughing. Although you wouldn't think it from photos as it's impossible to get him to smile when a camera appears! At exactly 6 months he decided it was time to start babbling so now we have a lovely constant soundtrack of "dadadadadadadada doodoodoo YA!" which is very cute. He can just about roll onto his front but takes so long about it that our un-babyproofed house is certainly in no immediate danger. He can sit unsupported though, and has been able to for a good month or so now - hes too nosey for lying down!
I'me still breastfeeding, which is mainly going well, and we've been BLW for around 3 weeks now. He loves exploring all the different foods and despite all the mess it's so much fun, we are having a great time. Night time sleep is pretty good, napping could be much better! He would rather cry about how tired he is than actually go to sleep! So he has to be encouraged a bit but does at least nap in his cot now which is progress. Only for half an hour at a time though.
I'm back to work at the beginning of June too but only for 3 days a week, and then will be off for the summer, so I'm trying to focus on that. H is taking additional paternity leave up to the summer holidays so he will get some lovely Daddy time which makes going back to work much easier.
Here are a couple of most probably sideways and massive photos as usual!

These pics are super cute! I can hardly believe it's the same tiny babies from all the BA posts! Glad you are all doing well. Mrs Bass and TT I hope your first days back go ok, it's a thought I'm dreading!
TT is he actually saying like a proper word!? That's brilliant!
O was 22 weeks yesterday and we also started weaning yesterday after being back to see the paediatrician during the week. Were doing purée at the moment and will move onto finger foods and do a combination.
We're still trying new combinations of milk and meds to deal with his cmpi and reflux and he was put on different milk again this week but he's doing great and is a smiley happy wee guy. I love him to bits! I'm hopeful that weaning will help with the sickness and that we can slowly introduce milk again as he gets older. His weight is good too, he was 16lb 8 during the week which is only around the 25th for his age but corrected age he's up in the 90's!
He had zero interest in tummy time and is desperate to get on his feet so the introduction of the jumperoo went down a treat! I'm not convinced he's going to crawl but I might be wrong. He loves a babble and shouts all the time although it's not words just his baby chat and a lot of big shouts!
Sleep wise he's good, he naps brilliantly, he has a feed and a bath and a story at night then he normally starts to stir about 9pm, I feed him and then we go to bed. He stirs a. Bit during the night from about 2am then wakes about 5am for a feed. It's pretty much a dream feed though and were back in bed within 45mins and he will sleep until about 8am so I can't complain!
Work wise I originally thought I would have 6months off but with him arriving early I've got some extra holidays and I've decided to take a bit longer on crappy mat pay and go back probably the first week in sept, I will be back 5 days a week which is gutting!

Hi ladies, Good to see you and your beautiful babies! E was 16 weeks yesterday, can't believe how fast it's gone! He's a very happy giggly boy. Loves tummy time, bath time & his jumperoo. He had silent reflux & cmpi, will not take a bottle yet and feeds every 2 hours, maybe 3 at night, so it's still all a but tiring. He doesn't self settle so always feeds to sleep, but intend to work in that. We are back at the paed next week to discuss weaning. I'm still bf and didn't really want to beyond 6 months but

Haven't found a formula he can & will take yet. Still, I wouldn't change him for the world, except maybe for a quieter one :-)

Oops sorry for massive pic twice, I'm on my phone!

Oh well done ladies, we really have made some very cute babies here.
Ha no MDD, I'm not sure it counts as a proper word although H of course is over the moon that he can say dada! I don't have the heart to point out that he says it all the time in any context with no meaning!
