It seems odd as I'm usually the last to post, but there doesn't seem to be a thread today so I decided to start it. I've been to MW this morning. I'm measuring far too small on the fundal height again so she's phoning the hospital but I'm not worried because it's stayed below the curve all the way but every scan is fine, and my next one is due in 6 days. My iron is also too low, so I guess I'll be on iron tablets soon.
Hope all is well, I'm hoping Mrs P has given birth or is well into labour x

Oh I forgot to mention I went for my jabs yesterday too. I had my usual bi monthly B12 injection and my whopping cough vaccine. The nurse said the whooping cough one won't hurt much as it's usually given to 3 year olds and the B12 is renowned for hurting. However this morning the only arm hurting is the whopping vaccine one!

Hello, I thought I might dip my toe if that's okay? Is 28 wks the right time? Genuinely feeling quite anxious, not of you lovely ladies but moving up a tri is another 'take stock' moment in the life of a worrier, lol. I've just done a little hyperventilate as if right on cue, ha ha!
BLL, sounds like you have a petite one there. And the iron wil def help with a bit of energy :)

I came across at 28 weeks and I believe that is the start of the 3rd Trimester. It's nice to see you on here. I understand your 'take stock moment' but once you get used to it, it's great to be on the final stretch of pregnancy.
On the measurement she isn't small, in fact she's way above the 50 percentile, it's just my bump that's small. That said I'm 6"2 and as my MW says excessively tall and excessively small women often don't fit on the charts well. That's what you get for being a giant lol
14/01/2014 at 11:24
Oh! That makes total sense!! And she'll presumably be a fairly long baby. I'm not very tall (5ft 8) but am broad and my bump is very spread indeed, so I look round, but not pregnant :)
14/01/2014 at 11:49
Oh it's quiet today! Mrs P I hope you are off having a baby!!
BLL - I'm small compared to you at 5"11 but my bump is easily smaller than the average woman at my stage. I didn't have a bump at all until 24weeks! I think our length absorbs the baby rather than sticking out. I'm also on iron tablets following my last MW appointment. I take the tablet with meals and so far so good it's not played havoc with my digestive system! As for the whooping cough jab - AGONY!!!! I couldn't sleep on that arm for 3 days!
Counter - welcome to 3rd tri! I think it's normal to have a scary moment when you move here. I defo did too. Especially when one of the other girls said, "welcome to the tri where babies are born". Eeeeek!!!! Since moving here I've defo got a finger out and started thinking practically about the baby actually arriving. I was quite laid back throughout 2nd tri! How are you keeping?
AFM - still feeling a bit sore after my fall down the stairs on Sunday but back at work. My manager was great and said that as far as he is concerned I was working from home yesterday. Very kind indeed considering all I did was sleep!! The baby kept me awake last night partying and woke me up this morning with hiccups so things are defo okay in there!! I'm still trying to fathom my decision to work until 38 weeks. These last few days have been so tiring. Just getting up, showered and dressed has taken it out of me. Such a difference from pre Christmas! Oh well, 23 days and counting!

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm still here!
Spent yesterday morning in hospital being monitored due to signs of pre-eclampsia, but when blood pressure returned to normal they sent me home, despite telling me I was going to be induced! Had a mini meltdown last night but thanks to some lovely md'ers I'm feeling much more positive today.
Hospital asked me to go back on Wednesday for monitoring and then Thursday for induction, but I've phoned mw and I've an appointment this afternoon just to check blood pressure again and possibly another sweep.
Contractions are still only 10 mins apart but getting stronger, my god I didn't realise they'd be this painful this early, thank god for tens machine!
Sorry for lack of personals, hope everyone is well and welcome to 3rd tri Counter!
14/01/2014 at 11:57
Oh SP - don't say that about working till 38 weeks! That's my plan too, I'm at the stage where I'm trying to convince myself it'll be fine!
Counter - it's scary being in here! It's made me suddenly think about the reality of it all. I keep seeing things when I'm out and thinking I need to add it to my list of things to but for baby/hospital bag but now I'm starting to think I should be actually buying things (cute clothes don't count!)
BLL - I think being tall definitely seems to help. I'm only 5 ft and have quite a bump but I think if it was spread out over a few more inches it'd look a lot smaller!
Mrs P - fingers crossed it all gets going for you soon and you don't need the induction appointment.
14/01/2014 at 12:21
Aw Mrs P sending you super duper baby out vibes that these contractions ramp up and you get your Pootle before Thursday! You've also just single handedly sold the tens machine to me. Did you hire yours?
Flossy if I'm totally honest I felt great before Christmas and it's only been in the last week that I've felt this tired. I don't know if it's because work is a bit slow (I can't start developing projects at this point so they are all winding down) or because the baby is squishing up the way so I feel breathless standing still! It might also just be psychological because the end point is in sight and no doubt I'm willing time to pass quickly which inevitably it isn't! I'll be here till 38 weeks regardless as I have commitments right up until then - I'm sure you'll be fine!! Do you keep busy at work?
14/01/2014 at 12:47
Sweet pea, it's an obi tens, a friend gave me it as she didn't get chance to use it, but believe they are about £40. It's a good job I didn't hire one, as I've been waiting so long for things to kick off it would have cost a fortune!
14/01/2014 at 12:49
just got to the office so can't do full personals sorry!
mrs P - cant believe your still here thought there would of been progress, Hugs to you!
counter - Welcome to the 3rd Tri
BBL - Hello to you x
SP - Hello to you too x
AFM - need some advise! made a complete tit of myself today, went on my hospital tour this morning and almsost passed out, had to have wheelchair brought in to me and i was on the floor in the middle of the hospital and everyone else on the tour, i was so embarrased! I have just got back to work after taking a very slow drive! but i still dont feel right! feel really spaced out and heady if that makes sence?
Should i go get checked out?
14/01/2014 at 12:57
NLH, definitely get checked out. A girl on our tour nearly fainted as it was so bloody hot in there, so hopefully it's just that, but better to be reassured. I'm surprised they let you leave though! Big hugs xxx
14/01/2014 at 13:02
NLH I'm surprised they let you leave (and drive no less!) too! I would be getting checked out as well especially if it's related to your BP. Hope you are okay! x
14/01/2014 at 13:05
well they sat me in a wheelchair, got me a biscuit and a bottle of water and were all standing waiting to contiune! so i just said please contiune without me! i went and sat in the canteen and got a cold drink and waited a while! i am now at work and the thing is if i didnt come into the office they qill class me off sick and if you are sick in your last week at work before maternity leave then they automatically start your leave and you cannot return! so i have had to come in i didnt have a choice!
my blood pressure has been ok throughout so far! always been on the low side! i have just never come over like that before, my legs went and i had flashing lights infront of my eyes! baby is still kicking away!
14/01/2014 at 13:15
BLL - I'm sure you are right about the measurements on tall ladies, as SP said I'm 5 foot 8 and my bump is not sticking out much either and I think its because there is more length for baby to spread out!
Counter - I know what you mean, 3rd tri is a bit scary isn't it? I keep thinking I'm running out of time to get things sorted out!!
Sp - Glad all is well. I know what you mean about struggling with the tiredness, I can't stay awake past 10pm these days and baby is keeping me awake frequently at night (a sign of things to come I think!). I keep thinking I should finish earlier but the thought of more than 4 weeks at home if baby is late is keeping me here until 38 weeks.
Mrs P - Hope things get going for you properly soon or that they induce you tomorrow.
Flossy - I'm sure it will be fine working to 38 weeks but if not you can always bring it forward.
AFM - Desparately trying to keep motivated at work but its getting increasingly harder!
We set up our pram at my parents last night so its becoming real now that there will be a baby using it soon :) My mums panicking that her boot is too small to accomodate it, bless her. She's just literally bought a Corsa so we tried fitting it in and it fits with the wheels off so panic over!
14/01/2014 at 13:17
NLH - Sorry I missed you. This happened to me last week. I felt really faint during the drive to work (luckily I wasn't driving) and almost passed out. I;ve had this before I was pregnant so didn't get checked but I think its related to low blood pressure. I'm sure my pregnancy book said about feeling faint in pregnancy because of that reason?
14/01/2014 at 13:53
Hi everyone, I'm at my mums and internet is really patchy on my phone so will be back on the personals when I'm home tomorrow :) having a lovely time being pampered!! All ok with baby, he's moved down further I think.
NLH- I had exactly the same on my hosp tour! I think it was the heat and walking around- hopefully it'll pass soon but if not then maybe ask to wfh for the rest of the day so you don't invoke your ML??

14/01/2014 at 15:44
Late to this today so not going to do personals - NLH hope you feel better, get yourself checked out, def sounds like you should be resting. And baby out vibes to MrsP xx
All ok here, baby seems fine, just dreading work tomorrow. Oh well, such is life!
Hope everyone else is doing ok x

BLL - I remember the agony of the whooping cough jab. It was waayyy worse than the Anti D injection and that needle was a monster. I also had to have a scan because my bump isn't big enough, it's measuring 33 now. But I am tall-ish (5'8'') and when they scanned me the baby was 5.15lbs so only a little bit small for dates but 33percentile and just under the curve. Was nice to see all was ok though.
Counter - Yey! Welcome to third tri.
SP - Glad the baby is ok, hope you're not too sore. I know how you feel about working later. I was planning to finish at 38+6 but my boss is going to let me work from home during the last week because it's just getting a bit much now and as long as I can look at emails and forward to relevant people, I dont need to be in the office.
Mrs P - Hope you don't have to hang around too long before things get going. Baby out vibes.
NLH - Poor you, hope you are feeling better now. I would get it checked out or at least ring the maternity triage. I fainted and they asked me if I banged anything and just monitored the baby just in case. You need to make sure you dont overdo it. I think I fainted because I was eating properly but I am now and feel much better.
Everything ok here. Had my mum and H nagging since we had to have a growth scan yesterday. Not that eating more will have any impact except making me put weight on. But on the plus side, I had a weird lump behind my belly button and it turns out that is ok and completely normal - phew. Nothing else really to report. Can't WAIT for work to finish now. It's getting pretty dull.
