Rafferty is now 6 days old (how did that happen!). After a few days of being clingy & refusing to be put down (a few very hard nights as we had to sleep in shifts so 1 of us could be awake to hold him) he's had 2 great nights where he's slept most of the night. The only problem now is that I can't get back to sleep again in between (having silly regrets).
Yesterday we went out together as a family trip to the park which was lovely. We'd tried this a few days ago & it was so cold & wet & Rafferty cried the whole way in the car & we'd been too tired to appreciate it. So nice to feel a bit human again.
We also had his 5 day check. He had to have 2 heel *** tests as the blood dried too quickly but he wasn't fazed in the slightest & didn't cry at all. Clearly he's made of hardy stuff as he was wide awake & not feeding for the 2nd 1. It was also nice to see that he'd put on 2oz so is now 8lb.
Hope to see some familiar faces on here, rather than me talking to myself!!

Good morning! Was lurking whilst feeding. Congrats again on the arrival if Rafferty, although how dare he not wait the extra 2 days so he could be Thea's twin
Well Thea is now 4 days old weirdly it feels like we have always had her and we are all besotted, with both her brothers competing to do things for her, which she will LOVE as she gets older . Section was absolutely awful, I'd say it was in line with my crash section under general anaesthetic with Lucas although worse in parts as we heard what was going on, she was stuck as transverse and they crash called paeds and at the same time I was bleeding lots and kind of out of it but not iyswim. Anyway following 9 hours bring one to one'd in recovery I made it to the ward....where the care was non existent, truly awful and I ended up just saying to the dr (who was my friend anyway) that what is the point of me sitting on the ward in agony and having no help at all when I could be at home with h helping me iyswim. So been home since Sunday.
Bf going well, she likes to feed ALL night , we haven't been out really as the mw cane yesterday so was waiting for her. The weather is stormy today but if it settles then will go a walk I think.
She has her heel *** test tomorrow. My h is at work tomorrow for a meeting and should only be out 4/5 hours so I'm
Planning to wing it, my parents are taking Isaac to pre school and picking him up then going home so il just need to do the school run probably.
No more babies for me and I can honestly say I'm happy with that, after Isaac there was always a 'should we shouldn't we' but now I'm 100% done and we are both happy.
In other news my builders are still here and no doubt will be at Thea's first birthday party

Bk that's great that rafferty has put on weight and a trip to the park sounds lovely.
Rf thea is a lovely name. That's a shame about your section and the builders. How lovely with your boys wanting to do everything for her.
Well Dillon is 5 weeks and 4 days old, time us going too quick! He feeds more or less all day so I'm getting used to feeding him out and about. He is getting into a bit of a routine at night and tends to sleep between 10:30-2:30. Just had him weighed and he's now 9lbs 8oz and is on the 25th centile line now, he was between the 9th and 25th when born.

BK - Lovely to hear Rafferty is gaining weight well and was unphased by his heel pr1ck test. Good to hear you are already getting out and about too!
TRF - Thea sounds like she's going to be very spoilt by her brothers. Sorry to hear how traumatic your birth was, but well done you for getting them to listen to you and getting yourself home as the care there sounds awful!!
Bunny - Pleased to hear of another good weight gain but the feeding does sound exhausting but it's good to hear he sleeps fairly well at night so hopefully you are getting a decent snooze in then :)
Amethyst is now 16+5 but if we go by her 'corrected' age she's only 9+2 so I'm counting her as eligible for this thread as I missed most of my time posting in 3rd tri. My little munchkin was 8lb 5oz at her last weigh in 13 days ago so I'm hoping she'll be over the 9lb mark when I take her tomorrow. I can't quite believe how well she's doing considering she was 7.5 weeks early. She might be tiny but she's healthy and happy and has made me happier than I ever imagined :)

RF: I know it's bad he didn't wait to share his birthday with Thea but once he started to come there was no hanging around. My established labour is recorded as 48 mins from when the mw 1st arrived at my house to delivery!! Sorry to hear you had such an awful time of it but glad you knew people so you could get home early. How are you feeling now? Try not to over do it as you have had major surgery, maybe 1 of your friendly builders could babysit to help out!!
Bunny: Lovely to hear that Dillion is doing well & putting on weight & you're getting some sleep!
PS: You're more than welcome to join us here. I love to hear how Amethyst is doing & sounds like she's putting on good weight. & how lovely is your last sentence. x x

Did post on the earlier thread but it's moved so I've C&P!
I'll join you lovely... I think we just scrape in as 4th tri!!
A is now 12+1 and he is such a happy baby..always smiling until he needs a feed ;-) His overnight sleep is now consistently an 8hr stint followed by a 3/4 hour stint, and he guzzles the nightfeed so we're back in bed pretty quickly! He's taking 5/6 oz every 3/4 hours during the day.
Last weigh in 2 weeks ago we were 14lb 12 and on 91st line, 75th for length. He's comfortably in 3-6 month clothing and some of that is beginning to look snug :'(
Whilst it's easier the second time round with a newborn, it's not as easy handling 2 children at times but I think we've found our groove now. After a shaky start O is now besotted with his little brother!
I can't post pics from my phone but will try later on the computer x
ETA - weigh in this pm made Arthur 15lb 12 at 12+1!!! He's a unit!!

Hello lovely ladies sorry i haven't been on for ages motherhood seems to have taken over everything!!
Firstly for those who missed in the tri threads my vey brief BA my little baby boy made his appearance on his due date 31st October, We called him James and he weighed 6lb 10oz. After all the birth plan appt we had running up to the birth everything went well, I had no pain relief and was in compete denial I was in labour. Ended up being told to wait for an hour to push as I was being injected with the clotting agent my body lacks so by the time that was all done I pushed for 2 hours and no luck with getting him out, I was exhausted and boy was turning his head in a funny direction and they delivered him with forceps under a local anaestic in the end. I feel so positive about the whole experience and didn't find it painful just very uncomfortable.
So...today James is 3 weeks old and I am totally in love. Feeding had been interesting as he would latch on in hosp so we fed him by cup for the first two days and I have exclusively expressed ever since. However am finding it very hard and milk supply is very sporadic and boy is very hungry so we are topping up almost every feed with formula
Now but he seems happy. I'm not sure how much longer I'll express for as it seems to take so much time out of my day plus then to make up formula so I may switch soon, I was only ever planning on BF for 6 weeks anyway so ewe shall see.
Sleeping wise again he has good nights and nd bad nights, he finds it hard to settle in his Moses basket so ends up in bed with us most nights but only really wakes up twice in the night for feeds. Hoping in the next weeks he goes down more in his basket but I guess at 3 weeks it's a bit much to ask for the whole night so soon.
It's a massive learning curve and even now I can't believe how quickly your life changes but I couldn't imagine my life without him now xx
