I didn't see a thread yet, so thought I'd jump on in. Sorry I've not been around recently. I've been up to London and then back to Paris. I had my early scan and all is well in there, but she dated me a few days behind, to exactly 8 weeks (last Friday). I'm not going to bother changing my ticker, though, that those few days may well change before the 12 wk scan, which is now looking to be at exactly 11 weeks. Here's hoping they can see everything they need to!

Wispa - how lovely you had an early scan :) not too long to wait until your next one!
AFM - woke up twice in the night to pee!! I usually have the strongest bladder ever so I'm finding it very weird ATM!! I am so tired its ridiculous but last night I could not get back to sleep after getting up so the insomnia is kicking in!!

Wispa, nice to see you around. Yay for everything being well at the scan- I'm not changing my ticker either and they dated me a week behind (so my scan will also be at 11 weeks exactly if that's accurate, but I don't think it is!)
Nothing to report really from me, I feel like time is dragging so much at the moment, and like I'm wishing my life away, which is silly as it'll get so manic when baby 2 does get here! I'm just really looking forward to feeling a bit better, and being able to tell people. Exciting plans for today include J's first trip to the dentist, I'm sure it'll be fun!

BM, sorry, I'm posting and feeding a toddler, so I was a bit slow. Boo to the insomnia and the pregnancy bladder, I know just how you feel!

wispa- glad you saw baby, a week wont make much difference !
BM- i was the same up until about 9 weeks. only in the past week have i slept through the night!
SP-dont wish your life away lol only 57 days until crimbo !! good luck at the dentist!
AFm- i have a midwife home visit today, so iv been up early today doing more housework. my house is spotless and clean and i know that, but i still feel like she is there to judge me ?
29/10/2013 at 08:44
Monnie, lol at the idea of your midwife judging you. Fortunately having a spotless house isn't a pre-requisite to having a baby, or I'd definitely not be allowed to be having a second, mine's covered in squished raisins and toast crumbs more than 50% of the time!

im not even sure what shes looking for haha! shes probably not there to judge at all, becasue what are they going to do now im pregnant haha !
29/10/2013 at 10:16
I am totally with you on the judgey feeling, monnie! I haven't even met any midwives yet, and I'm already worried about getting a lecture on weight, healthy eating, and I don't know what else. Maybe how often I forget to take my asthma meds? I think it's just first baby worries that we aren't good enough? Aren't moms supposed to be superwomen? God knows, I'm not!

mine have been so lovely about weight. im really overweight and im being monitored closley becasue of it . noone has made me feel bad at all yet ! iv seen a diabetes midwife, and a dietician in the ante natal clinic , and my midwife just told me not to gain more than 7lbs in the first tri. so far iv not gained anything !
i was petrified about my weight ruining my pregnancy, but honestly so far so good. Its just the home visit thing, i feel like shes inspecting if my house is good enough to bring a baby into? i mean i know midwives see it all, they see mums in million pound homes and they see mums in crack dens, but it doen't settle my nerves haha ! and shes got a student with her. i hope she likes dogs !!

Wispa exactly the same happened to me, my early scan back dated me by 10 days so I will only be 11+5 at my 12 week scan, my midwife said it will still be fine though.
Blessedmummy its so strange isnt it! My bladder is just starting to return to normal - I still get up in the night though, think its just habit now! I think mothernature is preparing us for our sleepless nights to come!!
SG - ahem to feeling better, cant wait til that day comes!!
Monnie, I was exactly the same when my midwife came to my house! He didnt look around or anything, filled in paperwork at the table and spent a lot of time stroking my cat!! I'm sure they would have seen it all in home visits though. One thing I did notice is that both times I've seen him he's written partener not present on my notes - hope that doesnt make a difference to anything! He's weighed me twice and seen that I've put on 10lb in the space of a few weeks!! He didnt say anything, I'm only about 9.5stone though so I'm still in the green for my height and age.
Hope you all have great days

im back after 3 hours with the midwife haha !
29/10/2013 at 16:33
You're got to be joking, THREE hours?!
What did you talk about? I'm really very curious, I've not even booked in, yet, and I've got my appt next week.
29/10/2013 at 16:53
this was my booking, we went through all the questions in the book, she advised me about breast feeding and my birth plan. there was a bit extra about my delivery becasue im high risk and what that entails
we did lots of samples and measurements and she made me do a carbon dioxide breathing test.
it was about my history, hubbys history and my parents/family history
it was long winded! and i have so much to read up on tonight, she left me with so much paperwork and booklets, pamphlets and even a dvd ?
