On another note, this baby has been "the size of a papaya" for weeks now. Surely im due a different fruit?
16/07/2013 at 08:06
Glad you had a nice weekend. The weather is lovely, it's so unusual for us to have such a long spell of it. No idea about the papaya but I think someone else said the same thing last week.
AFM, I got an early night last night so I've managed 10 hours sleep! Woohoo! I'm a bit worried as I seem to be getting kind of pulling/achy/stretchy pains in my tummy. Is it normal to be getting them at this stage? I sort of feel in limbo until my scan in a few weeks, I've not seen baby for ages and how do I know everything is ok? I'm starting to stress myself out!

Morning MS glad you had a nice weekend. Hope they pick up the Moses basket quickly. Do you mind me asking why you are consultant led? I am too as I have a bicornate uterus.
Morning imp! I feel exactly the same lovey, phoning today to see if I can book a scan for sat. That's why I was considering the doppler to tide me over sort of thing. It I'm worried it might make me more stressed out!
I wish I'd had 10 hours sleep! I did sleep better than last night at least but I've had one of those mornings and I'm in a bad mood already! Lol! I was googling last night and apparently it could be anything up to 20 weeks before you might feel movements! I was hoping in the next couple of weeks!xx

Hi MS glad you had a nice weekend. Enjoy a nice chilled out day today x
Imp I may be wrong but I think baby has a massive growth spurt at around 16 weeks. Something like doubling its weight so that might explain some of the things you're feeling. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about
AFM woken up to some clouds and cooler temperature today. I'm sure it will warm up as the day goes on. No plans this morning other than phoning the ultra sound department to rearrange my placental location scan. H can't make the appointment they've made for us and he desperately wants to come. Meeting up with a friend and her lo this afternoon. Hi to all that follow xx

Morning Mummy S - I don't eat fruit really so I am finding the fruit comparison really confusing. I do however know what a melon is and how bl**dy big they are!
Imp - I had alot of stetching pains etc at that stage. Totally normal. then it settles, then goes again. Try not to worry xx
Miss deedee - I got a fluttering or 2 at 17 weeks and then proper movement at 20.5 ish. Now she won't keep still, especially at work! It will happen, be patient :-)
AFM - Found out our lovely inlaws had transfered the WHOLE amount for the pram etc (over £500) into OHs bank account. So lovely of them, and they are demanding we now go on a break before the baby comes. Bless them! Not much else to report. The baby decided on pain au chocolat and greek yoghurt for breakfast though. Good baby!

Hi missdeedee sorry to hear you've had a bad morning already. With Isla I started feeling little bubble sensations at 18 weeks but with this one didn't feel anything til 20/21 weeks. Try not to worry though I know it's hard xx
ETA hi LP now that's my kind of breakfast!

Another one that has been AWOL for a few days! Have just been busy enjoying the sunshine. Hope you are all keeping well!
MS- I said to H yesterday that I'm sick of her being a papaya! haha. I'm pretty sure I will be wanting to go back to a papaya when I get to watermelon.. I think it changes at 25 weeks so we will see tomorrow!
Imp- Yey on the long sleep! I know how stressful it is but soon you will be feeling LOTS of movement and it is all very reassuring!
MissDD- Lots of people feel movements sooner but because they aren't as pronounced that some people brush them off as something else. I definitely felt movements later but she is making up for it now. Hope you start feeling things soon :)
MrsB- Have a lovely afternoon with your friend and I hope you manage to swap your appointment okay.
AFM- Enjoying the sunshine and desperately don't want to be in work! I was promised a pay rise 4 months ago (a few days before I told them I was pregnant!) and still nothing has materialised. Getting very annoyed and everytime it is mentioned it feels like I am getting fobbed off. H said yesterday that he thinks they are stalling until I go on mat leave and I think he might be right. Feeling so de-motivated.
On a better note baby is super wriggly and her kicks seem to have gotten so much stronger over the past week or 2. She likes making me feel stupid and will be really active but then as soon as anyone else puts their hand on my belly she goes all shy.

mummys - sounds like an ace weekend! :o)
Imp - 10 hours - nice work!! (a bit jealous!!)
missdeedee - my OH has banned me from googling, I still sneak a few but tbh he's prob correct - there's all kinds of horrors on there if you look.
Mrs B - hope they change it for you and you have a fab day.
Sam - thats well annoying - did they put anything in writing, on minutes etc?
AFM - scan day today....eeeek! fingers n toes crossed!
MS have a nice day shopping. I am trying to resist looking for maternity clothes at the moment as we're poor but I desperately need some
IMP 10 hours sounds amazing! And yes the pulling and stretching is normally. Baby is obviously in need of more space in there!
MDD hopefully you don't have too much longer to wait for movements
MrsB we had clouds yesterday and was much cooler but still nicely warm. Was a much nicer temp at night too- I had the duvet on!
LP sounds like you have VERY nice ILs!
AFM got our double pushchair off ebay last night. It's quite a bit bigger than I thought. I'd tried out the newer models in shops (its a phil and teds ) but seeing it in my home it seemed a lot bigger and heavier. H has offered for us to buy the new model as he could see i was really disappointed about it , but when I googled all the dimensions there's literally only about 3cm difference so wouldn't be much better with a new one anyway. I'm going to take W out in it later for a test drive and see how I get on, but it just seems so big I can't see the front to see where I'm going!( I'm only 5 foot) . Don't think there's any other option for me as all the other tandems are even longer and there's no way I can manage a side by side in my house . I'm hoping once I've been out for a walk with it I'll feel a bit better
16/07/2013 at 08:51
Good luck weeme. Let us know how you get on x
16/07/2013 at 08:53
Sam- that sounds really annoying about work. Can you ask for a meeting with someone and tell them you feel you are being treat differently because you are pregnant. Employers no they have to be very careful when it comes to pregnant mothers rights so hopefully it might scare them into getting it sorted for you
Weeme fingers crossed for the scan. X

MS, have a nice mooch round the shops today.
Imp, I'm getting the same achy feeling, it's quite low down and feels like odd period pains. I'll mention to the MW today. Hope it stops for you soon. What a lovely sleep!
MDD, glad you got a slightly better sleep. I've had one flutter so far, but think in hindsight it was trapped wind! Have you decided against the Doppler?
Mrs B, have a lovely afternoon with your friend and LO.
LP, how lovely of your inlaws! Have you decided what you are doing with the cash? I'm loving your baby's breakfast choice!
Sam, that's terrible about your employer, can you call them on it? Lovely to hear about active wriggly baby, sounds like baby has a sense of humour rather than being shy!
Afm, I'm working from home today, woo hoo. Have my early 16 week appointment this afternoon. I had a card yesterday telling me I have a parcel which I'll pick up later, I haven't ordered anything so who bets I'm all excited but the parcel will be really dull!
16/07/2013 at 09:07
There was nothing put in writing or anything. It was literally a 10 minute meeting at the time at which point I was told that we would wait a month as someone had just been sacked and would sort it from there. From then it went to 'wait until the end of year when I can speak to the accountant and it will be sorted'. About 3 weeks ago I got told I would have an answer by the week after.. still nothing. My colleague was also told the same thing and I have asked her and she said she hadn't had anything sorted which I believed until yesterday. I think if she was told to keep hush about it to me then she would.
As it stands it is making me think more and more about not returning after mat leave as it simply wouldn't be worth it after paying for childcare. I'm even more frustrated because I told them I was pregnant really early (just over 7 weeks) because it is only a small company so I didn't want to leave anyone in the lurch and I needed time off for early scans etc and didn't want to lie. Feel like I have completely shot myself in the foot for being honest. Generally just having a p****d off time with work at the minute!
16/07/2013 at 09:08
Gosh I'm a slow typer....
Weemee, good luck for the scan today x
Jellytot, sorry you are disappointed with the double buggy. I think that they all seem bigger in the home as the stores you try them in are massive! I hope it feels good on your test drive!
16/07/2013 at 09:09
Weeme- good luck for your scan!
16/07/2013 at 09:10
That's really s**t of them Sam. Is not returning an option for you? It's so unfair when you have done your best for them and told them early.
16/07/2013 at 09:18
MrsPenguin- We are going to look in to it a lot more once I'm on maternity leave but it doesn't seem like something we need to completely rule out just yet. Other than that I would probably only be looking to come back part time anyway so we will see. H's and his dad are working on a new project so the ideal situation would be for me to do something part time there if I do look at going back to work. Just feeling really down about the whole thing and I'm literally counting down the weeks before I can leave!
16/07/2013 at 09:26
It's awful that it takes the shine off your last few weeks. I know small companies need to protect themselves, but then it is more personal too. Hope the project for you H and his Dad comes off and you can go there, what a result that would be x
16/07/2013 at 13:05
MissDeedee - i'm consultant led because at the last couple of scans baby pickle has been measuring small, so they want to keep an eye on his growth. Going for my next scan in around four weeks, so hopefully if he has grown well they might let me go back to being midwife led. Sorry if this is a silly question, but whats a bicornate uterus?
